They had capchas for Neopets? Wtf?!
They were for viewing pet and user lookups. The story is that one day the server was actually apparently going down from account scanner bots who would collect data from these lookups. Those bots are meant to gather databases for hackers to look for easy targets from what I heard. The next day, according to JS, they instituted the captchas. They were always meant to be a temporary measure only though, according to a later editorial.

I never had picture captchas maybe I got back too late. Just had a small checkmark to click and was off.

Those fuckers used to tell me to pick waterfalls but gave me pics with waffers and cars all the fucking time. And when it reloaded to correct images, a handful of tries later, it would tell me I was redirected to that page wrongly or wtf they say in those cases. Bastards.
I never had picture captchas maybe I got back too late. Just had a small checkmark to click and was off.
That only happened when I was browsing on mobile.
