-No more tracker
-Pokevision is gone
-Nearby distance is smaller
- Low level Pokemon can escape and dodge
- No more great throw bonus

EDIT: New update released as I posted! Seems the same. Maybe a negative review wipeout?

I'm quite annoyed at the tracker being gone, even though it was glitched sometimes it worked and I could use it. Now it's just all guess work. It seems they also got rid of battery saver mode, I checked the settings and it's gone. I can no longer put my phone in my pocket and have the screen so dark while still being on to save my battery. I have no idea why they would have gotten rid of that mode. I liked the great throw bonus, it was a big help when trying to level and while it wasn't much of a bonus, it still helped.

Do you have an iPhone? It still seems present in Android.

Yep. It's very odd how they would get rid of it on just one device and not the other. Especially when the iPhone seemed to have no issue with it. I wish they'd tell us more when they update things.

It never worked in iPhones, but they did add background app refresh in the app settings.

The battery saver? It worked just fine on mine.

Worked fine for my sister too. She was bummed that they got rid of that.

I'm more annoyed about the tracker being gone

I really had hoped they would have fixed the three step glitch but instead they just got rid of it completely. Guess that was just easier. I read that it was a huge weight on the servers, which is why they got rid of it.

Not as intended. It didn't save enough battery on LED screens, and it made the touch screen unresponsive for a lot of people when used for a long period. Background refresh is better imo.

For me, the battery saver mode caused the app to crash far more often. I was told to turn it off and when I did, no more crashes/ freezings.

Edit: I have an iPhone.

They could have placed that weight on the user instead, though.

But then they run into issues with users spoofing their location.

They were doing that already anyway.

I still have the battery saver on my iphone. It works and I use it all the time when I go for a walk and hatch eggs.

It glitches out a lot though. Sometimes it doesn't respond when I click stuff on the screen. It's really annoying whenever there is a pokemon I want to catch and it glitches. I have to close and open the app again and hope the pokemon is still there. Maybe that's why they removed it. Hopefully they bring it back with the glitches fixed.

"Long period of time" for me was roughly a minute and fifteen seconds.

Didn't the screen saver end up turning the screen off anyway if you didn't turn it back right-side up and play with the phone?

But, yeah this update sucks big time.

All you need to do is haul a laptop around, hopefully have wifi readily available, and run a tracking script that still works.

Unless they broke mine since Turnip and I used it last.

Mine liked to down this thing where it went into battery saver when the phone was orientated correctly, then shut off when it was upsidedown. :)

If I had a laptop I could just chose my location and cheat.

But that takes all the fun away of tracking down the Pokemon. ;)

Might as well go all the way and run a bot.

So does lugging around my opened laptop. I'd just get my old SP and play the old games tbh.

You don't keep it open all the time. You just stop and run the script, see where pokemon are, and put it away again.

I'm just joking anyways.
