Agree or disagree?

Also I think that TFA was one of the worst films in the franchise. Maybe the worst.

Change my mind about either

If you didn't have the whole Finn and Rose arc, then maybe, but as it is, no, not for me.

TFA would have been fine if they had come up with something better than yet another deathstar.

I enjoy all the films, just some more than others.

If anyone says the last jedi is better we're not friends anymore.

ANH > TFA > TLJ

That's just my opinion.

The older movies are great. I personally prefer the animated series above all else with star wars. But I dunno the new movies are meh, and the newest one was so god awfully terrible I couldn't even watch the whole thing.

I am a major star wars fanatic. This isn't a good sign.

Does this mean A New Hope is better? I've never seen either but I'm bored and don't mind summoning @redlion.

A new hope is a fucking legendary movie.

Do yourself a favor and watch all the movies so you can contribute to this horror of a topic.

you know, I can respect people thinking they're all lame above thinking TLJ can even pass as a decent movie, let alone the best.

The new ones are lame. I can’t remember which one it was where everyone died but I was like ‘oh, they tried really hard to elicit emotion from a storyline that was otherwise very boring’.

Rogue one?

Perhaps. I am too lazy to google it but it was the only one that I felt like I wasted time by watching it. The others all had at least one or two things that I found enjoyable.

Ok, I feel exactly the same way. That arc was just really lame. The Poe holdo one was... meh. The leía flying through space I disliked. But I really really really liked the Luke arc. He stayed true to his character but it also brought a lot of new stuff in. Which I thought was where TFA failed. It was just Star Wars with newer graphics.

The older movies suffered from a but of awkward dialogue/acting. They were revolutionary, absolutely. I'm kind of a empire strikes back fan, and think that's the best franchise film. And while probably episode 2 was worse than TFA, at least it was something different where TFA seemed waaaayyyyyyyyyy too predictable and the same.

And I watched the clone wars cuz it was on Netflix and I was bored my 4th year of Med school. The first few episodes were cheesy af but I ended up liking it a lot, and like Star Wars as a whole much more now.

Have some candy

Lots of strong feelings but few people are engaging in debate, you fart wranglers. Don't tell me TLJ sucked, tell me why it sucked. Tell me why TfA can even be considered a decent movie. Otherwise I assume you are all this way Bc it is cool to hate on rian Johnson's interpretation of it. I SAID CHANGE MY MIND SHIT MONGERS!

I really enjoyed the last Jedi for the deeper issues it attempted to tackle like nature vs nurture, what responsibility a parent should take for their child’s actions as an adult, which I felt it went deeper on than other Star Wars movies. I thought it was dismissed by a lot of people because it waSnT stAR wArs but I end up hearing that every SW movie is the same from those same people who complain about TFA.

Was it perfect? No.
I really didn’t like some of the side plot BS.
I like Rian and his vision but it felt like it was forcefullly moving away from certain areas that JJ was focusing on which took me out of some parts.
So I am looking forward to his own trilogy of films to see him really flex. I expect a lot.

People romanticize older films when you know if this same film came out now people wouldn’t praise it as much. I just accept this as part of being a part of this fandom.

I also respect what you’re saying about people’s unceasing need to post just for posting. If you have nothing to say besides you haven’t seen them... however I don’t respect saying TFA is the worst, I think I was tasked with rebooting a franchise that Disney paid a lot for, the previous reboot was disliked, and wasn’t going to be a one off. Without TFA you wouldn’t have your last Jedi so it is very necessary. I think there was fan service but for what it needed to be it did the job well. I can only imagine the laundry list JJ was handed that the movie had to include. I do imagine what it would of been had Carrie, Harrison and Mark not returned

Solo (which I enjoyed) is the worst to me but that could be since it is still fresh in my mind

Thank you. This is what I wanted to see. I'll have to watch TFA again, but I was just so bothered by it I haven't seen it since it came out. I disliked some minor things in it (like how an incredibly powerful force wilder was overwhelmed by someone who learned how to use it that same day, which I appreciate was explained in TLJ) I thought they did a lot of fan service but you make a good point. They spent like $2bil buying the rights. They couldn't just do one movie and have it flop for being different. But why did they have to do another Death Star? So weak. I don't mind the, bring back Han leía and Luke, I feel Luke was especially needed.

Also I agree that without TFA there wouldn't be TLJ, but that doesn't mean it is better. Just like how there would be no episode 4 wrought episode 1 and 2, but I think we can agree that doesn't make the phantom menace and clone wars great movies (except for all the wonderful things they have brought to us courtesy of r/prequelmemes). And how a new hope revolutionized the genre, and movie graphics in general; however, I still believe that while ANH was obviously the most influential and revolutionary, empire was better.

I agree with everything else in your assessment. Well done

TLJ was a great movie.

But it was a horrible Star Wars movie.

Fite me.
