Hi, it's me, speaking.

 

I do not share your enthusiasm.

 

Overall, I'm not vibing with Neopets in any form. With the "wonder", "challenge" and "fulfilling rewards" ruined for me from the game's core after knowing enough about its history and future, I can logically and emotionally allocate my time and money elsewhere without much struggle.

 

With that said, I will download the app and probably make a fresh account to challenge myself with no cheating. For funsies.

I thought this was supposed to be released on January 17th? That would be tomorrow.

They said they were going to be releasing their Legends and Letters mobile game to select locations on the 17th but pushing out the full release to a bit later to iron out any further bugs etc. There was no official date mentioned about the total site revamp for mobile at any point as far as I am aware, just the 'aiming for a summer 2019 release' thing.

I'm glad they're finally getting into apps, but it's very late in the game now. A basic app won't cut it anymore, people have come to expect higher leveled things from their apps and with the team they have, I have little confidence they'll be able to do that effectively. Their ghoul catchers app was really just a candy crush clone. I'd really like to see some of the games be able to be played on this new mobile app. Otherwise if it's just exploring and feeding pets, they could have just made a mobile site instead of an app (since they already have a mobile home page). 

 

I have stopped playing neo really at this point, but I come back from time to time for events and such.

I used to really love neopets. It would be great if an app could fix what’s gone wrong, but the likelihood of that happening isn’t promising. But I am interested in seeing what kind of mess this turns into.

The only thing i can think of is "How will this affect my multi accounting habits and earnings?", as i read someone saying the site would be fully wiped to move to the app version.

I highly doubt they'll take down/wipe the entire site just for an app. Even in these times not everyone has smartphones and wiping the site would cause some huge issues with those people. Phones loose power, they get lost, ect. Wiping the site would alienate many users. Plus, even though the app isn't out yet and when don't know when, I feel they would have officially told users that.

Only thing I'd even be interested in using the App for is trying to get high score. Currently trying to feed Kads, and just thinking about attempting it on an app.. Eh.

They would "wipe" the site if it was in their interest as its owned by them but yeah I agree no way they would do it for an AP

TBH i so prefer to use it on the computer however the lag is ridiculous at times.

It's a lot easier to type out and have a convo on the computer.

Could just be that I'm so used to neo on a computer tho also.

 

One thing I did notice about using neo on my phone browser is the captchas seem less frequent.

Is that just me?
