Hey All,

Long time - I know. Feel free to shame me about that (and only that - let's be civil) below. There was a big action that I just took for someone who was a large part of our community and played a massive role in seeing us through some of our most active times.

Kate has expressed her wishes to have her account deleted and posts removed from the forum. Usually I stray away from removing the content of such an influential member, but with everything that she was able to contribute over the last 8 years I felt that it was owed to her.
She expressed to me how much this community has meant to her and how much she will miss it, but her attention is needed elsewhere in her life and it was just too tempting. I am almost certain that Kate will be reading this as a Guest, so if you want to wish her well, I am certain that she will read it.

Jess also asked to step down, quite some time ago actually, and I figured that it was time I followed through on that. She too has contributed quite a bit and I think we can wish her all the best moving forward.

I know that things have been a little slow lately, open to ideas if you have them. I check my emails every day, and am on slack way more than I should be - If you have questions or concerns please let me know.

It's difficult to give ideas when Neopets itself is pandering mostly to the neocash whales and everyone I know no longer get the emotional validation from breaking the game. If only there were more interests in talking about life or other games in Codex.

I feel the same way, a lot of us old folks talk in slack. Most of it has come down to real life things... The adults channel has gone from us being immature teenagers, to talking about serious relationships, getting married, purchasing houses, investments... Things that are much different from what things were back in the day.

My best wishes to them. I’ll try to be more active on slack now and here. I’d say let’s try breaking other games, but we need programmers for that, and I’m not at that level.

Thank you for the update. I never made (direct) contact with Kate but I admired her a lot. Hope she is doing well, she deserves the best.

It would be awesome to break other games (*cough* subeta) but I also have no coding skills. Nonetheless I love Codex and I've been here for 7 years and I'm not leaving.

Oh wow. Definitely all the best to Kate and all her future endeavours - she is such an amazing presence but I do understand the need to prioritise elsewhere in one's life. Jess too will be missed (well she might be hanging around in Retired I guess).

Perhaps I will rejoin Slack, I remember the days when it was new but I'd uninstalled it a long time ago - I should have enough data for it now though. I locked myself out of my old Discord account too (using 2FA so it is unretrievable lewl).
