Hi! I wasn't sure if this would be the place to go, or not, but I put it here because I truly wanted people experienced in this area to see this post.

Okay, so in several editorials TNT has stated that they won't be bringing a way to UNconvert our neopets, they won't be bringing back the old art in general.

Sooo... all you programmers, if you are bored enough, could you help me understand why? They have blamed it (on multiple occasions) on the programming aspect of it all. I don't know that much about flash or coding, but is it truly impossible...? TNT has stated that it is nearly impossible. Would any of you kind people be willing to uh... help me understand why this would be so hard for them? In uhm... lamens terms. I don't mind complicated codey terms either, but I probably will have zilch ideas of what you are talking about. I am mostly just curious how it works.

 

Is it just because TNT needs the NC to keep going? Are they afraid if they bring back UCs that they would not be able to sell as much NC? Or is it truly a coding issue as they have implied? Discuss it here with me! I would very much like to hear the opinions from experience programmers who would know how to tackle this situation if they, themselves were a member of TNT.

To be fair, I can see them removing UCs completely with the HTML Mobile Site.

In layman's terms:

 

Viacom era TNT fucked up and deleted the coding to make new UC pets with the introduction of converted pet creation. Allowing the creation of UC pets means people can't create converted pets. The Viacom admins who had the money to fix this issue was against the idea in favor of neocash revenue. The Jumpstart era TNT can program a fix, but don't have the resources (time, money and talent) to do so with all the priorities they put into place like HTML5 compatibility and playerbase engagement. 

 

The only exception to bring UC pets back into game is to revert a converted pet that was once UC (only non-basic colored UC pets that survived the autoconversion) into its original form because their program engine has a rewind function for disputable cases.
