I've been playing Neopets for a good while on my main account, but wanted a second account cause I ran out of space for more Neopets and would like to dress up / keep more pets. I also just wanted a second account and to keep doing regular stuff I do on my main without the two ever interacting, cause I don't want to cheat or get in trouble for accidentally doing so.

So I made a second account.

I then looked up the rules regarding side accounts and now I'm nervous I've done something wrong or that the thing I would like to do is considered cheating. I never went out to do this cause I want to cheat, I did it cause I just wanted to play with more neopets.

Am what I'm trying to do considered cheating / wrong? And should I stop?

Many people have side accounts. As long as you're not selling items/restocking/making NP, you're allowed to have side accounts in neopets rules.

Now if you're cheating with ABers and such, or making NP...then that's against the neopets rules.

Or if you're cheating on your main, you'll want to keep that second account completely separate. Different IP address (using a proxy/VPN), different emails/birthdays/style of pet name...ect

So techinally in neopets rules, no but in codex rules "do whatever you want".

Is TNT still as freeze crazy under the new owners? I hadn't played for a little while before they started working on the mobile version.

Not as freeze crazy as the Viacom days, I would say.
That said, some freeze triggers are automatic I think and I would still be careful on your main accounts (eg use VPN/proxies as suggested above)

if I recall correctly I do believe that neopets retains certain information when creating an account, like IP addresses. You may want to let the side chill for a little bit (maybe a week) and then use a vpn. You can def keep two accounts- I have my main, 4 sides, and two swiss neopian bank accounts.

as long as they are on different IP, and do not share the same email, it shouldnt be a problem.  How would TNT know?

If it makes you feel any better; I've done this for years.

my 'SO' and my 'sibling' both play, and play differently than my main.

I do have them interact a little bit, but not like a ton.

TNT said they understand mistakes happen. If you only keep making money and doing community stuff on one account, you should be fine. If you didn't vote on anything on the new account, they probably won't care, or just give you a warning.
