Well, the many ti'mes I've played neopets I've never understood the BD... I'd like to fight the pant devil, but I only have two horrible pets... yea... so any help on what items I should use?
If anyone could lend me the items I'd greatly appreciate it.

to beat the cave chia, a leaf shield would be good because most of his weapons r earth icons.

well a guide about this could be written but then again, it depends more on ur pet's stats then anything else

for example, my friend beat Meuka with sticky snowballs

I could write one but I'm not a super expert in that matter plus I'm already writin another guide

Go to IDB, they tell u

they have a section where they tell u which item is good against which challenger and they even tell u what items that challenger is using

Is the Leaf shield one use or multiple?

yeah the leaf sheild is multiple and on my old account I had beaten the chia, but I never had mukea in the battledome
