Praise the lord! Or if you are agnostic, just do your own thing :) (Not trying to be rude or anything, not sure how that comes off.)

After like, three years of only have 13 channels to whatch (four of which were the TV preacher channels) I am finally getting satellite again!  My mom got rid of it and now I am finally getting it back :)   The guy is here right now setting everything up.

I feel pretty :)

I have Sky+, it's only downstairs and I'm always in my bedroom so I don't really care much for it anymore, but I'd love to have multiroom. Terrestrial here isn't so bad.
But I really should go downstairs, most of the Sky+ harddrive is filled with Nip/Tuck episodes I need to whatch. About 9 weeks worth.

We are getting DirectTV, and since my dad works at Bellsouth (Or NorthernBell, for you northerners) we get a discount on it :)   We are also getting the DVR (like TIVO) for like, $50.

We used to have Dishnetwork, though.  I love Dish :)

Oh, that's what we have. DirecTV is pretty decent actually. 249 is comedy central :)

The DirecTV fox stations are 388 and 389. (sad I remember everything) I'd say about 7 episodes per day if you combine both channels

I am pretty sure it is $50 a month for the satellite services, $50 for the actual DVR (TIVO) and $5 a month for the DCR service.  I have all the local channels and all that jazz :)   Which is great, because we are cancelling our really crappy 13 basic cable channels, and without those, I would not be able to whatch some of my favorite shows, like Becker.

Care to support your thesis of cable being better??? I've had this argument a lot of times and would like to hear why you'd prefer cable.

My dad is really into free2air stuff. We have a receiver that pulls dish network channels. If you are thinking about getting free satelite it is definately a better investment that a reprogrammed direct tv as you have to reprogram them pretty often especially during the superbowl, world series, and olympics.

As far as cable being better.Advantages of Cable? It is procressed through an insulated cord, less packets dropped over distance probably more reliable. Satelite? I have over 1000 channels. Sure some are just audio but over 1000 is over 1000. it runs from 2-999 skipping a couple sections then it runs up to 6000 ranges skipping alot.
