Ok, I made a mistake, I was meant to say emulating windows on linux would use up MORE ram than just running linux (obviously). Not alot of help is offered with linux, though some distro's do, you're right stm, I havent tried every distro but I have tried;
Redhat fedora core3 & core4 (I think)
SuSe
Lindows(if that counts as a linux lol)
Ubuntu
Kubuntu
Mandrake
I thnk thats it, kubuntu just gave me a headache after a few hours and redhat just pissed me off, and the others didn't offer any help or were compatable with my cable modem. The majority of computer users use windows because its more user friendly, linux can be annoying to learn, but once you get used to it I guess its just like using windows

.
I can agree linux
CAN be better in certain divesions, for example;
Installing:
Windows: Simple put in the disc and let it do its thing
Linux: Insert disc 1 (2 seconds later) insert disc 3 (5 seconds later) insert disc 1(again) etc, it'll do that for like a hour >.<
Running:
Windows: Double-click and thats it
Linux: downgrade this, upgrade that, install these files, delete these, do a hop skip and a jump and say hi to your neighbour, kick a cop, have a shit and sit back at your computer
Error:
Windows: Png!211 ERROR, YOU = FUXZ0RzED LOLZ!!1111
Linux: An error has been detected, would you like me to fix this for you sir?
Pricing:
Windows: around $100(USD) ** free upgrade
Linux:
MOST distro's are free, but there are few you must pay for, roughly $50(USD) ** free upgrade (apart from a few that make you pay)
Source:
Windows: Closed
Linux: Open ** More vulnerable
Diffculty of using:
Windows: 1/10 ** IMO, windows is much easier to use than a linux distro
Linux: 8/10 ** of course stm, you probably will disagree, but this is in my opinion
Phew big post lol
