I was using my ipod as a external harddrive and I've done it many times but now when I turn it on it resets like every 10 seconds and the computer doesn't pick it up but I can get into the diagnostics mode. anyone know if theres a way to like reformat it without being hooked up to my pc it won't play music or even act normal at all.
thanks

normally I could hook up my ipod and it would say don no disconnect and you could see it in the my computer. now it doesn't pick it up and it doesn't run right. I can't use it or listen to music. Any suggestions or knowing how to reformat the ipod without being connected to a computer? thanks

argh that sounds like a dry battery I could be wrong but when I had to try fix my friends ipod I found out usually when you get that error its a dry battery and new ones cost atleast 50 USDoh and try and send it inot disk mode (middle button and play as you straight after you've reset it ;) )

when I hook it up to the wall outlet it doesn't show the charge icon it shows the apple logo. if you think its the battery then can't I just hook up my ipod to the wall outlet with the cord and it would work?

I got pissed at it and let it charge for like 12 hours and now it works. all my music is gone but I backed it all up earlier. I think I'm okay if not then I can go get the battery. thanks
