Overhere in the UK, we have a Jeans for Genes day and today is the day. So get your denims on donate to this worthwhile cause :)

Clickey here

Some info :-

Jeans for Genes, organised by four national charities, raises funds for research into serious and often life-threatening genetic disorders affecting thousands of children. Funds also provide laboratory equipment and facilities, as well as valuable advice and support for families.

Why do we need to raise funds?
In the UK, one baby in every 33 is born with a genetic disorder or birth defect... that’s one born every 30 minutes whose life could be affected. There are over 4,000 recognised genetic disorders, some of which have no current treatment. Pioneering research to develop such treatments is being funded through Jeans for Genes and is bringing great hope to families.

What do you have to do?
There are many ways to celebrate Jeans for Genes Day, you could simply wear your jeans and donate £1 schools / £2 companies, or you could don your denims and organise some fabulous birthday themed fundraising events. You could sell tickets to a birthday party or a denim decade disco! You might even like to hide presents and hold a full scale treasure hunt with maps and clues - remember to charge an entrance fee!

I have done my bit towards it, have you?

Wait a second. You people in the UK donate £1 or £2? Here in Australia we donate $1 or $2. You guys are getting jipped at least $1 (well, Australian money).

You can still get jipped, not all charities are necessarily good. Take this for instance:

My dad used to be a manger of a charity, which was incredibly corrupt, and doing tons of wrong things like asking for money for a cause and not using it. My dad quit and almost took them to court.

but assuming that a charity will "jip" you before you actually know anything about them, is a bit presumptious
