Apparently they think that if they can get 600,000,000 people to jump at once, they can alter the earth's orbit, slowing global warming, and increasing the number of daylight hours. Well, it's worth a try!

Interesting concept. Don't think it would do anything though.

LOL OMFG YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME

So what would happen if 300k people jumped at the exact same time in say california and say 300k people jumped at the exact same time as the people in california did, but they are in say japan? Wouldn't that just not move? PSSSST I seriously think the people who came up with this idea should be thrown off a underground building at exactly 11.39.13 on July 26 *don't ask*

They'd have to have half the world move to the other half and do it..or else it wouldn't move anywhere..

It's impossible to change a planet's orbit by it's on mass only, including it's population.

    What an interesting theory xD

I would jump just for fun though. I highly doubt anything special would happen.

The average adult is about 175lbs. That "jump" would apply 105,000,000,000lbs of force onto the earth.

The earth weighs 11,944,000,000,000,000,000,000,000lbs. So no, I doubt it will make any difference at all.

Lol that would have to be pretty coordinated. Well you have to set a specific time. You the earth is a spehere so if like 300k jump in like china side and 300k jump on american side wouldn't that void? :p

600 nuclear bombs detonated in antarctica at the same time

    no more global warming

    no more globe :p

I doubt everybody jumping at the same time would have much of an effect if any <_<

    say goodby hollywood ?

impossible you would need to have everyone linking hands and throw bombs at the world for such a thing to happen

you'd prolly have to get the entire global populace into one single area then do the jump/bomb thing if you expected any effect

and the amount of fossil fuels burned in transporting everyone to that one place would surely negate any effect the jumping might have
