Alright, whenever I put any CD into my D: drive, it says it doesn't pick up anything. The same thing happens in my DVD drive...any ideas for what might be wrong?

You'll probably have to check your BIOs. Reboot your computer and when you see the "WindowsXP" screen come up, click escape. Make sure your harddrives are both connected. If that doesn't work, log back into your computer. Go to your control panel and click "System." Click "Device Properties," if you have a yellow exclamation mark, then click on that device and check to see what the problem is.

At bootup press DEL key (number pad) and F2 until your bios loads go into it and have a look around at some point you should see your hard drive then cylinders and so on there should be an option to "auto detect" if it doesnt detect your cd drive/s chances are its the cable I had this problem last week on my brother inlaws computer
