I don't understand why people would get offended when someone tells them Merry Christmas.. They are wishing them something good, why would they take it personal?

Personally, if someone wishes me Happy Chanakuh (or however you spell it) I would be happy that they put forth the effort to wish me that lol...

Whats all your thoughts?

How have you been NPCraver? Haven't seen you on for quite awhile. ^_^ I noticed that many stores aren't allowing their workers to say "Merry Christmas." It's pretty dumb.

I was happy when some worker person from Best Buy wished me a Merry Christmas ^_^ Bust yes, I completely agree with you. People are a bit... over-sensative.

Well not everyone celebrates it. That might be the reason.

Thats still no reason to get all bent out of shape about it like some people do.

There's no reason someone should be offended if someone says Merry Christmas or Happy Kwanzaa to them and they don't celebrate it.

But I agree with zulfi, to avoid any problems, just say Happy Holidays.

well its the exact opposite in some places. the bible belt for instance gets out of shape when people dont say merry christmas. I was at work the other day, and the boss was handing out gifts. I said happy holidays so I wouldnt cause any problems when she said its merry christmas or you dont get one at all. im not sure if she was joking but it kinda pissed me off just becasue not trying to start anything I guess I did

I completely agree with you. It's the thought behind the message that counts.

Yeah, but trying telling that to the rest of the world xD Seems like people only care about themselves now, if someone is wishing you happy times, take it as a compliment! Saying Happy Holidays is fine, but I'll be happy if people wish me anything... ;)

Agreed. I say Merry Christmas! At nights I volunteer at the local light display. We get about a 1000 cars per night and I always have someone who gets somewhat angry when I wish them Merry Christmas. I always say "Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays" It really urks me.

People that cant take it make me cry. When I hear merry christmas, that makes me feel more equal then happy holidays, which is forced.
