it says winlogon is a normal process, but then it says it could be a trojan that steals passwords lol.

Winlogon is the process that logs you into the OS.
Iexplorer can be a peice of spywared hidden as internet explorer process, there was a bit commotion about it a while back around my area as almost everyone had it. Get rid of it if it looks suspicious or if you have pop-ups and the like.
Personally I prefer firefox, it's a much better browser http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
And some people prefer opera.

Well, googling a process and finding out what it does is not necessarily safe. There are people who name their trojans/keyloggers something similar, or the same as other vital system processes. An example would be lsass.exe. All they would have to do would be to configure the trojan/keylogger to run from the Windows folder instead of the system32 folder. You can't kill the process with Process Manger, and they're safe. Check out Process XP from http://sysinternals.com instead. They have a lot of useful monitoring software for your computer. After opening ProcXP, you'll see a screen that shows you where the process is located and running from. It also gives you the ability to check and verify the exe maufacturer online by certificates and gives you the ability to kill almost any process running.
