Today, news have been accidentaly leaked of a grade 8 mandatory science fair sometime in February. I want to plan ahead and get an idea now.

I think this is completely unfair since it didnt happen last year or anything. I am appauled they would do this. they are so much work and so not very fun to get a good grade.

Maybe you guys/irls know any ideas that aren't super complicated, not overused, [Ex: Potato/popcorn]

But still look proffesional :D

Discuss'erz even if you don't have ideas.

Are there any restictions? You may have to meet certain standards of the school.

Electro magnet. Very simple, very neat lookig, and clean. You take a metal rod, wrap copper wire around rod, attatch wire to large battery. I used probably 5-6 gauge wire, and a duracell batter...I used a toggle switch, too.

^^You can get all that stuff from your local home depot ^_^^^

If you want you can use me and my friends idea that worked. Bottle with a rubber band inside that is somehow used to rotate a little axel of some little wheels. It was rather cool. It had some cool features but I forget all that now. Like 5 years ago. It was way above our age back then.

    Balloon powered rocket car.

Have a styrofoam body rectangle and attach styrofoam wheels, then tape a straw with a balloon on the end to the body. Fill the balloon and let go, watch the car roll.

    Should be self explanitory...

But, by charging metal object with a current, it attributes magnetic properties to it.
So you can use it..as a magnet!

you can do stuff with foils. like how diffrent shapes affect lift and drag. you can aslo compare it with high speed foil porformance. the nasa website has alot of training webpages on it and also have simulater already made (called foilsim), so you could use that.

ahh, good ol' agua freea :p

my best science fair project was testing the abilities of a self procliamed "psychic" to see whether or not she was full of shit :p

my worst project? sticking blown up ballons from an unlabled bag onto a bed of nails, or was it the one where I put books on paper cylinders in various shapes

or maybe it was the one where I tried to see how many people could be convinced that dihydrogen monoxide should be banned :p (that one mighta worked if I'd put more effort/thought into it :p )

I got $100 bucks from a science fair in some grade (I forget) by building a roller coaster outta magnets D:. Get alot of round magnets and glue them down on a bed of plastic that has walls. Make sure that they're all facing up *-* or all *+*. Then on the bottom of a toy car the same width as the walls you also put magnets. But make sure that it's the same charge as the ones on the track. Or it'll just stick to the track.

The result is a cart floating above the track. Creates a really cool effect. :D
