ok, so. i call someone about cockatiels, because i've been looking into buying one, and they answer. i ask a few questions and then hang up... now, 2 or 3 days later, and a few unanswered calls, i call and they answer.

You should check out all of your local shelters first. There are a lot of abandoned birds in the world, or if you're lucky enough to have a REPUTABLE breeder near you. None of these backyard breeder ass-shats. >.< RAWR.
Did you ask anything that would tip her off that you don't know what you're talking about, is more what I meant, like asking if you could declaw it or...something.
Otherwise...she sounds neurotic and probably has equally as stressed out birds. o.o
