Well a few weeks ago, I purchased a Ring of the Lost at 3.5mil. I just checked the price right now and it's selling in the auctions for 3.9 mil and I've just been offered 4mil on mine. Keep in mind it's only been about 3 weeks.
That's an easy 500k profit.

It seems like a good item to invest into because it's gradually increasing in price. Past war items have all significantly increased in price too, so I just thought this would have been a safe investment and turns out it was.

Please keep in mind that this is NOT an inflation thread for they are against the rules here at Codex. I am not attempting to inflate this item, but just suggesting that it is a safe investment.

PS. The other items I bought did not inflate as I hoped they would.
These include:
"How to Play the Viola"
"Nabile Plushie"
"Foreman Cudgel"
"Stylish Scroll Rack"
They either stayed the same price or decreased in price slightly. Probably because they're not as popular or there are just too many in circulation. (They're all cheap buyables besides the "How to Play the Viola")

Edit. Just checked another topic and an offer was made on it of 4.55mil O_o

Not necessarily. If its worth the price its going for, then it will be no harder to sell than before.

I bought one for 3.5mil also. I can see this exceeding the 10mil mark as time progresses. Look at some of the old Meridell War prizes... even the weak ones have gone from 800k to 6mil. And the ones that used to be around 3mil at the time (Jerans Sword for example) are so rare that you would be lucky to find one for sale at all.

Of course, more RotL's seem to have been released than individual Meridell war prizes, so I can't see them getting that uncommon... but they definately will go up by the millions.

This was one of the desert rewards from the plot or something like that?? Sorry I wasn't around during the desert plot so I have no idea what happened during it.

I bought mine for 1.6mil the night they were released ^_^ War prizes are always a good investment, and not as many ROTLs were released as some of you might think. The number of points you got were determined by how far you got and how fast you did it, so in the end only a certain amount of possible ROTLs were released, thats why you see some people with 179,000 points and some with 149,000 points even though they all finished the plot. Would suck to have gotten 149k by the way :p Since ROTL is 150k points. Boing

edit://ROTL selling for over 5m now O_o Alot of other weapons are inflating too. Mostly because of rumors of war.

:( I remember when they were selling for 1-2mill too. By the time I actually realized they were worth buying though it was too late.

Hmm... an easy way to inflate weapons:

Go on the neoboards, start a topic that states a rumor about upcoming war, next thing you know, people are flying to buy equips.

When do you think would be the best time to sell? As swfx said, they're at 5.5mil now, but is that natural inflation or war-speculation-inflation? (WSI)

This inflation was natural not WSI. I think they will just keep rising in price until they get to a steady price. If you see that a few months go by without a price change, the price will probably not change significantly afterwards so then would be a good time to sell.

    Hmm.. current profit off rotl:
    1.9mil
    :ninja:
