Is anyone worried that it confirms in your area?

Well since 2003 it has spread across, south asia and europe.

and worldwide killed 98 people, over 3 years.

Ive been sick for 2 weeks now.

First week, Sore throat.
Second week, No sorethroat cough.
And this is the 15th day and its going away ^_^ But I read if you have a sore throat for about a week a cough persists for days or weeks. And Its going away because of anti-biotics.

Anyway about this birdflu anyone wanna talk about it? It freaks me out hearing the facts.

But anyway.

Discuss

And I live no were near the Birdflu anyway. Hasent hit us and I heard Australia and Canada are most protected/prepared.

I'm not too worried about it. Of course it is something that is bad, but I don't live anywhere close enough to birds that it could get to me being undetected :p Of course, now a pigeon is going to fly through my window and infect me because I jinxed it.

Well if it went away from anti-biotics then it was obviously not the bird flu or even a flu at all :p Probably a touch of strep or bacterial bronchitis ^_^

But anywho.. I'm a tad worried that since my immune system has been so down with my current condition that I have... I would be more suseptible. But if that does happen I'll just isolate myself a bit and wait it out. I'll have to be extremely sanitary. I don't think it will ever get so bad though. I'm really not around too many birds thank goodness. However though... it's not birds I should be worried about >_<

Yeah, I really don't freak out over things like that, that is, unless people around me become sick with it. I'm not to worried unless it comes near.

Bird Flu does not transfer between humans. It is non-contageous.

Therefore, unless you like playing around with filthy birds, you won't catch it.

Joe, scientists are saying somewhere in the near future, most probably, it will be spreading human-to-human, causing H5N1 to become a pandemic issue, and then eventually killing millions of people.

I'm a pharmacy student at my college and we've done quite a bit of discussion on this. The fact of the matter is that while bird flu is a threat, it really hasn't been determined just how MUCH of a threat. The cold hard truth is that it's just another disease that the media has taken and ran with. It's being blown far out of proportion, much like SARS as Ali said. As an example, think back to any winter you can remember. Every year the media insists that the up-and-coming strain of influenza is the worst we've seen when that may not be necessarily true.

Ill tell you why to check the milk. Chicken craps in hay. Cow eats hay. Harvests milk, whil crap in system. Milk=death. We kill cow. We eat cow. We get H5N1. We spread H5N1. We die.

meh so far iv seen some pretty wrong facts here :p i read about it like everyday, im pretty on top of it,

    6monthes - hit north america
no current cure for humans yet, except tamiflu, but that hardly does anything if at all, and would only help it cure by like a day or so

its believed the flu will die down and become less dangerous when it his north america

you CANNOT get bird flu from a H5N1-Infected bird, if its welly cooked.

177 people have had bird flu, 98 have died, that results in about 45% of people who get it, die
