Plot Summary for
Spider-Man 3 (2007)

Third film in the highly successful "Spider-Man" series sees several new villains and a new woman enter Peter Parker's life. With his secret now revealed to both Mary Jane and Harry, Peter must face the consequences of his actions and his new life together with Mary Jane as they finally form a relationship. Yet their newfound open display of love has yielded some unfortunate results, not the least of which is Peter's upset boss determined to make his life hell for causing his son emotional distress. Not helping is a young investigative reporter named Eddie Brock who Jameson has hired to find out why Mary Jane dumped his son for Peter - what's Parker's secrets? At the same time an escaped prisoner hiding out on a remote beach is caught in a dreadful accident and finds himself turned into a shape-shifting sand creature. Peter's investigations into the past of this 'Sandman' brings him in contact with two very different things that will inevitably alter his life. The first a young woman named Gwen Stacy, daughter of the city's new police chief who is developing a soft spot for Peter. The other, a black substance from an accident scene which 'merges' with Peter's costume and gives him new found abilities. Things come to a head however when Harry Osborn, determined to take revenge against Peter for his father's death and now equipped with what he needs to pull it off, teams with The Sandman in a new variation of his father's Green Goblin guise and causes mayhem. In the ensuing chaos lives are lost, including people very close to Peter, whilst the black substance covering his suit separates from him and merges with a distraught Brock to form something else entirely - a creature unlike anything he's ever faced. A 'Venom' that he may not be able to stop.

That little plot they posted on IMDB has no source. Sony has not confirmed in favor or not in favor of what Kristen Dunst said a few months ago about Topher Grace being Venom and Thomas Haden Church being Sandman. Which Venom is possible as Sony has confirmed it will be CGI based. However, Sam Raimi has mentioned last month that he HATES Venom and would never want to do a story on him.

Sandman has been a rumour spread in Wizard magazine since August 2004, three months after Spiderman 3. Raimi said that "Sandman would be cool", but he did also mention that it would be an enemy unsucessful in the box office unless combined with another villain, to bring a unique plot.

There will be the continual Green Goblin plot, as confirmed by Sony. It is unknown whether the Green Goblin will be indeed attacking spiderman in the movie or it will grow to lead to Spiderman 4 (Which Raimi said that he wanted to leave the Green Goblins return to be directed by someone else when he gets off of the chair after Spiderman 3 is done.)

Filming has been started in Janurary; so we can expect a winter like setting. There are rumours that it will take place over a vast of months, possibly over a year. However, filming has been done for the main part, so expect it to take place in the winter time. Currently, they're perfecting the so called CGI.

Kristen Dunst might be right; but Sony will not confirm if she is right or wrong until the end. The movie poster has a black and white shot of Spiderman, so its very well possible that could mean Venom.



Another rumoured villain is the Lizard, who almost made Spiderman 2 until the doctor Oc plot ended up taking up 2 hours as is, so the Lizard would only distract the plot.

It's sad. IMDB has been growing inaccurate over the years. It was said Futurama was coming back on there, when it very well isn't. It also mentioned that Bruce Almighty 2 would feature Jim Carry and Jennifer aniston again. Not the case, because its a brand new movie that ties off of noahs ark.

I know. He and Lizard man are potential CGI. Raimi prefers the lizard, but Topher Grace actually looks like Eddy Brock in the comics.

Ok, sandman isn't a roumor. If you take a look at this
you'll see that it says "Thomas Haden Church .... Flint Marko/Sandman" also, it cites the source "DarkHorizons.com"

Uhhh, its a rumour. DarkHorizons is on the basis of high leveled rumours. The only person who can confirm these rumours are a representative of the Sony division that handles Spiderman, or Marvel.

I knew that Venom would be involved in this one. I cant believe the sandman is also involved. I hope its good. I bet that Aunt Mae dies.

That would be funny, considering Aunt May is one of the few static characters still living in the Spiderman comic. But a shift of plot would be unique, though some could argue it being loosely based could cause another GODZILLA (1998). I doubt that would happen, though.

Of course. But there are still key events that play in to keep realism for the fans. =P So I dont agree aunt may will die, but itll be a blast.

This series is one of the only good super-hero comics. All the Batmans sucked, 'cept the last one. V for Vendetta looks awsome, but I havent seen it. Almost all the other ones sucked. I cant wait for this one though. I hope its better then 1 and 2 put together

The plot summary is right on the dot. Now we have a killer trailer out showing Venom...Topher Grace as Eddie...Sandman...Green Goblin...blah blah. Comic-con released the KILLLER trailer.

I like Peter's hair...he went goth!
