God I hate spiders .... I needed to get a canopy just so they couldn't bother me ...
I don't squish spiders .. I get someone else to do it for me. I scream like a girl and call anyone.. happy.gif

I just read up a bunch about spiders...yesh.

The most dangerous spiders us Californians have to worry about are:
Hobo Spiders -Brown, cause necrosis, not fatal, doesnt attack unless threatened
Black Widow Spiders- not dangerous unless threatened
Tarantula - not dangerous at all despide popular belief.
Yellow Sac Spider - white spider, lives in households, can be dangerous.

The scarriest one in north america is the Brown Recluse. Like the hobo spider it causes necrosis(death of tissue), and its venom has a 1.5% fatality rate.

The most dangerous spiders are located in South Africa, China, Brazil,and Australia. Sorry Australia people

I swear I bonded with that spider! I hope I didn't afflict any injuries on it.
And by the way killing a spider is the worst thing you can do. Spiders compete for territory and when you kill one you're essentially taking your chances with another one.

This is why, if its brown or has the red key on its back, it dies. Otherwise, I'll toss it out.

My dad was bitten by a brown recluse, took a lot of hospital time and a lot of meds to fix him up, he still has a huge scar on the side of his leg. =/

There are no spiders here which are remotely harmful thankfully. I still can't stand being in the same room as them though.

Everyone says "they do more good than harm" but I would feel more comfortable being in the same room as a fly! And flies don't leave cobwebs.

I live in florida the worst spider we have here is the brown recluse... though I have never seen one i have seen what a single spider bite can do to someone

In the Philippines we play with them, we keep them in matchboxes, w/ tiny paper rolled into circles to serve as their home.
We call them "damang", that with short a's(its like saying dah-mung)
We put two spiders on a stick, loser becomes food.

I have a fear for spiders too.
One time while staying in the dorm I was a about to pee in a wall urinal when I saw a spider about 4-5inches long as I was about to unzip. I thought WTF?!?!?!..I ran straight to my room
I also got traumatized.

So Im sitting here watching TV and IMing...
All of the sudden I notice this 1 inch spider crawling down my window blinds...I start yelling like a little girl and it falls into my curtains.
I get my MagLite flashlight, long ruler, and a piece of paper and go on a spider hunting spree. After 10 minutes of rummaging through my blinds and curtains, I find it.
I am about to kill it when suddenly it looks at me. I swear the spider looked at me.
I realized the spider was afraid of me just as much as I was afraid of him.
So now I decide to try and get it on my paper so I can go put it outside. It didn't want to go on my paper...
I ended up following him along the wall until it reached the balcony. I opened the door and let it out.
On the way out it stopped, turned around, almost as if to say thanks, and then went on outside.

At one point I almost accidently killed him with my window blinds ><
So yea, thats the story of the spider and me.

haha when me n my friends see a spider nest, we open it up and they all run away... if theres a spider in my house though, i either kill it or flushy flushy.

They piss me off. There's so many of them in my house, I've been telling my parents a while to get somebody to come in and remove them, but they've just been lazy.
