My little doggy got hit by a car on wednesday night and is no longer with us.

Its really hard to cope with something like this as he has been like 1 of my best friend for 8 years..

Has anyone ever lost one of there pets before and has found it hard to cope with it.

Yeah, I said something about it in trixx post. I'll quote it.

And I know sort of how you feel with your dog. One day, my cat (outdoor cat for 5+years) saw me and the driveway, and had a bird in her mouth. She was so concentrated on showing me the bird (She always shows me what she catches) then go smashed by a transport. *ick* Unpleasent. You get the picture. The -ahem-insides-ahem Flew out X.X Most sad and disgusting thing ever :crybaby:

Losing pets is always difficult, but it could be worse. When I saw my cat have a heart attack I couldn't get the image out of my head for a while <_<

Theres a similar thread about two under this one :x.

    I'll just quote my post.

..That's so terrible..i'd be mortified if I ever lost my cat.

I wish the best of luck to you in finding your pet.

When my parents use to live on the 24th floor of my apartment building, there were no screens or gates in the windows. One time, my mom's friend came over - and it was toasting in the apartment (it was mid summer, and my mom was cooking a chicken). He opened up the window, and him and my mom decided to go out for a walk. He went home, she came back up and could not find the cat. At that time, it was only my mom and my father, so they lived in pretty small apartment. My mom noticed the ajar window, and saw something outside on the concrete. My father came home, only to scrape up the remains of my parent's dear cat Winston.

I was not born at this time, thank god. I wouldn't be able to deal with it.

    Poor thing :(

I lost my 10 yr old dog last year, and it was awful because it was so sudden. We took her to the vet in the morning because she was acting really tired, we left her there and got a call a few hours later saying she needed to be put down because she had lung cancer. What made it worse was that when we went to say goodbye before the injection, she walked up to us just like nothing was wrong... and then we gave her a hug and it was over.

It still makes me really sad. It's so cruel that man's best friend only lives a fraction that we do- dogs aren't just pets and they do become members of your family. It's hard now, but it will get better with time; and you'll just be left with the happy memories.
