i wouldn't expect his absence in standup, i doubt he is retiring at his current age.

He did stop the show due to a "stressful work environment." He talked about this on Oprah. He said he would not go back to the show if Comedy Central aired the 3 episodes from the unfinished season, which they have already done.

If he doesn't go back to the show, I'm sure he'll star in some movies of his own, he already made Block Party, though it was from 2004.
