Discuss cripling injuries...

About a year and a half ago I ripped the ligament in my left knee. I was goal keeping and when I jumped to catch the ball I landed on it funny and all I remember is that it didn't feel to good. I had surgery and everything and fully recovered but now no team wants me on their team no matter how good or how much I try to be the best. As one coach put it they see me as a handicap on the team and couldn't risk me tearing the ligament again. I haven't played soccer in about 2 years and I can't stand it any longer....

As for injuries, I've never suffered anything major, just the usual leg pains/cramps.

Its not like you dont get to play if you dont get picked they put you in a grade that they think you're skill is at.

I'd play on a rec team just to keep myself in shape. When you keep applying for Travel or Club teams, tell them about your years in rec ball as proof that your injury has healed.I have been playing for ten years. It's the one sport I love and I can't get on a freakin team cause of and injury that happened two years ago... I hate it. Now the only opition for me is either get on a rec team or coach...

That stinks about your injury. You should try rec ball! It's fun and would allow you to play.

But yeah, here's my soccer injury....I had been dribbling with the ball down the field and bumped heads with another player when I played little league. I had a bump on my head the size of an egg. >.< From then on I sat out or played goalie. I would love to play now but am super out of shape, and the only rec team anywhere close is 14 and under so I'll be too old this year.
