Yea, got my new car yesterday and got PULLED OVER.

My very first speeding ticket. Thank god I had insurance, I was driving several months in the Lexus without insurance.

Yes, I admit, I begged for a warning. Well, not begged, just asked. But evidently 23 over is too much. He said the guy next to me was going 61. Blah.

So, anyone ever gotten a speeding ticket?

LOL. What can I say? It happens. I have gotten several tickets. Not for just speeding though. Got a few improper use of lanes and other things. I have talked my way out of more than a dozen and have probably actually received 5 or something like that. Good thing with florida's laws is that I can take a 3 hour course and get them removed from my record. *you can also take the course online, which is what I have done*.

So basically I have gotten like 5 tickets but officially I have none on record.

lol, it was near the end of the semester, and my Sociology of Crime and Deviance class was doing these mandatory presentations of our final projects. If you didn't attend, or were late for the class, you got docked 10% from your final grade.

wouldn't you know it, I slept in a little.

got caught doing 114 in an 80 zone.....

luckily I was slowed down to pass someone.

I made it to class on time, but with a 300$ ticket. tongue.gif

Well, according to my New York State Department of Motor Vehicles Driver's Manual: (why do I have this? I don't even own a car.)

Speeding: mph over posted limit --- points

    1 to 10 --- 3
    11 to 20 --- 4
    21 to 30 --- 6
    31 to 40 --- 8
    over 40 --- 11

In NY, 11 points gets your license suspended.

Isn't it 7 points for drivers under 18?

    QUOTE
The point values charged against your record are based on the date you commit the violation, not the date you are convicted in court. If you acquire 11 or more points within 18 months, you will be notified by mail that your license will be suspended. You may request a DMV hearing only to show that the convictions in question were not yours. You may not re-argue the convictions or request the suspension be waived based upon special or mitigating circumstances.
