Apparently if you drop a mentos into a bottle of coke, it comes up since of a process of nucleation...

Isn't that amazing?

yeah ive done this with some friends a few times.



it works with other diet sodas as well (Sierra Mist Free in the picture above)

The reaction of Mentos with Diet Coke is not, as some have surmised, a chemical reaction, and no products other than flat Diet Coke, soggy Mentos and carbon dioxide are produced. The reason that the soda erupts so violently from the bottle is actually twofold: a decrease of the surface tension of the soda (due to dissolving Mentos), and an increase in nucleation sites (sites where bubbles of CO2 can form) within the bottle (due to the rough Mentos surface). Both of these factors make the carbon dioxide in the soda less likely to stay dissolved and more likely to become gaseous. The fountain effect is from all of the CO2 going from dissolved to gaseous at once, and at a great rate.

i'm pretty sure the mentos has to dissolve in the coke, otherwise it won't work.

you can put coke in your mouth, then a pack of mentos..that works

Also another thing you can do besides the lil gay ass geyser:

Put the mentos in the diet coke bottle, put the lid on almost all the way(Dont turn it all the way, leave a lil bit open)

Throw the bottle as high and far as you can and then run and hide behind something.

Once the bottle hits the ground, the cap shoots off because of the force in the bottle and the bottle goes FLYING leaving a trail of fizzed up diet coke, there's a few videos of it on Youtube/Break.com

ZOMG I just had a wicked idea... ok so you put it in the cap, and you put the cap on really quick and throw the bottle xD So it's upside down cap with mentos, then screw it on and throw it.... BOOM me thinks.
