Hey, y'all, I'm going to university in the #10 out of over 300 schools ranked "Students Never stop studying" so... yaaay... (aside from that, it's a great school, Grinnell College in Iowa, check it out if you're not against small towns with big diversity) I've been doing alright but I'm so busy. Here's some stuff I made up before coming to school in case anyone cares...





That's my second cousin, isn't he a friggin doll?

Next semester I'm planning to take a digital art class *dance!!!*

*giggle* Well I'm not really good so much as I used a polygonal lasso to line the first one, and it gives you carpal tunnel but it's so easy to make a piece look excellent and finished. Try it only if you have a ton of time, but remember to take breaks.

In the first two images, you need to notch the skirts up a little. like. alot.

Or make the skirts transparent.

but the people look like proper anime chars, where did you learn to make people look so real?

Whoa great drawings Jillian, you really have some nifty line work going on there.
But that guy's arm looks a bit unnatural (or a bit uncomfortable).
Oh your shading rocks too.
And the photo is just awesome.

Slurm, I think it's because on that first one I experimented a little with my own version of cell-shading, which is what actual animes tend to use... there are tutorials floating around, but once again, I just used the polygonal lasso to ring in where I wanted it darker then just multiplied my skin tones. It's pretty easy once you get used to it.

And yeah, Jaf, I agree, I'm ridiculously terrible at drawing guys, I don't even know why, it just never ends up as comfortable-looking as I can sometimes make chicks look. They're always awkward. It's something I tried to improve on by drawing these first two guys in a long time.

*giggles* But the first skirt is barely covering her.... self and the second girl's dress is transparent, actually, see her legs under it? That was actually the original concept in the second drawing, I just wanted to mess around with a flowy transparenty skirt and then she got all sultry and flirty. I have no control over my drawings, you know...

Heh, I don't think anyone was corrupted, I was just curious why xD the cig came out good though.
My mom's a heavy smoker, I despise smoking because of that. Some people say if your parents smoke, you're more inclined to...but it's the totally opposite for me.
Anyways, great drawings and it's good to see you post again!

Haha it depends on style/preference. Like polygonal lasso, is like for sharper lining.. Thats really the best I could describe it And pentool is for a more smoother or softer kind of lining.

Btw I really like the smoke effect from the cigarette.

Why if it isn't Jillian Long time no see! Yep, already saw those (the drawings anyways on devart) but I must say your cousin's adorable Glad to see that you're liking your school. I'm starting mine as well and currently taking an Intro to Computer Art course. Trust me, you'll be bored as hell. It's already a month in and they're STILL learning opacity erasing >_> Oh and we only are learning photomanipulations, nothing about actually drawing in there. So yeah, be prepared for boredom if your class goes like mine >_< Anywho good luck with your studies! Visit again sometime! <3

I was wondering the same before, as I thought maybe it had ulterior theme of guys abusing girls, but I guess I looked into it a wee bit much. Sorry.

I love that piece though, cell shading fascinates me as i'm planning to learn how to do it, and I think you've executed it really well.
