Supposedly Dvorak lets you type much much faster.

qwerty, pretty sure it's standard in Canada

Interesting, I wonder how hard switching is tongue.gif. Speed might pay off

There's another keyboard that just has the letters from A -Z on the keyboard, in order. I doubt it's fast to type in, though. Dvorak sounds interesting..

I use the Qwerty keyboard. smile.gif

The only reason we have a qwerty layout is because when typewriters were first invented, they had a a-z layout, and couldn't cope with how fast people typed. I guess we've all grown up with qwerty and it would be hard to switch.

Random question: how do chinese keyboards work?

they use a regular a-z keyboard, (or q-m.. if you use qwerty tongue.gif) but when you type in like "ni hao" for "hello" it puts that in the chinese letters.

at least that how it works with romanji...probably wrong

Defintely QWERTY tongue.gif I type faster than I need to on it already, so switching over to DVORAK for speed wouldn't have much of a point.

My friend, a professional programmer, uses Dvorak. He says he can code in Dvorak as fast as he can type sentences in QWERTY. Way to increase productivity tongue.gif

I've never heard of Dvorak before and when you said keyboard interface I thought you might be talking about those ugly ergo-keyboards.
