no
if it says something like
d:/documents and settings/jocxo (or a virus somehow hijacked your registry and made it so that administrator is a power user)
and you are on Administrator, then it should be corrupted..
Documents and Settings can only be accessed by Administrator if your OS profiles are seperated into Guest, Local/Power User...etc
BTW: did you install your OS on C:?

yea, they both have an OS both XP
and no hacker got to my pc
you know
when both HD's has an OS
you can only boot to one of them (which is your C:)
BUT.
you can change which drive to boot with on the first startup screen (i think f8?)

It's unlikely, but it's possible XP is still seeing that, and keeping you from accessing it. since it thinks you're someone else. I can't think of any ways around it in Windows, but you could try booting with a Linux LiveCD, and mounting the drive there. You might be able to get in then.

i mentioned it in my first post, C is the master and D is the Slave , as in the master is the one that boots ©
if both drives has an operating system
they both have the ability to boot...that means D: has admin privileges and C: can't access main admin folder (jocxo), because it is not an admin?

Its a passworded admin account - it can't be accessed from the out side. What you're going to have to do is set your D to boot first in the bios (or manually if you can't do it there), then take what you want and put it on your C drive.

Alright, red, you made a great effort, but wrong.

no, whenever i boot the old hard drive it would go to the screen that says: start windows xp normally or safe mode, and i chose normally and it would just restart the PC and boot with the new one, then i tryed safe mode and it did the same thing
i think your system doesn't recognize the secondary slave ;o
D: or C: is slave?

I assume this is related to something like a thesis paper and you need it by your dead line, if it is I would like to point out that you should have had it stored in at least two places. I also suggest that you go and beg, pled, gravel, etc before your teacher explain the situation and hope to god that he / she understands; he / she may even help you get the data. Ask the college tech admin he / she should be of much help in this department. Out of curiosity how much experience do you have with computer hardware / software.
P.S. If at any point in this you thought that i thought you where dumb/slow I did not; I simply wanted to make sure you understood and thus spelled it out as simply as i could.
