Hey guys, just weighing in again on the political scene.

The Military Comissions Act of 2006 is unconstitutional. Its as simple as that. Destroying Habeas Corpus (pretty much the cornerstone of the United states

"the privelege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended unless when in cases of rebellion or invasion, the public safety shall require it." - The Constitution of the United States, Article One, Section nine

Unless I'm very much mistaken, we haven't been invaded in over 50 years. We haven't even been attacked on US soil in 5 years. And why did this take so long to come into effect if we're enacting it on behalf of a war? What war are we currently in that takes place on american soil? None that I'm aware of.

"Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." - Benjamin Franklin

Ok, so if the epitome of American thinks its wrong, why are we doing it?

Check out Olbermann's commentary on it.

Actually we were being invaded ever since the Cold War started.

    - Spies
    - Terrorists
    - Propoganda Spreaders

    they count, i guess.

they all count as "infiltrators" since they are "harming" our country.

Propaganda isn't against the law. We do garantee free speech in this country (at least, until Bush signs this bill into effect) and you can't be thrown in jail for verbally abusing the government.

Spies and terrorists have always been a threat. We've had to deal with them regularly for hundreds of years. Aaron Burr anyone? Still, past examples of similar laws put into place for our 'protection' have ended with literally every president that had the powers abusing them.

But those are besides the point.

The cold war ended over 15 years ago, and although russia may still try to infiltrate our nation, they have vastly downsized the KGB and other intelligence services, while ours have only increased in size and readiness.
