Errr... source? Because that's definately not true according to what I learned in AP Bio.

Fungi reproduce in a way similar to many plants so that at first it is asexual and then it is sexual to produce a mixing of genetic material. So I am very inclined to believe that is bull.

And Trixx, you are wrong as well, they DO need sexual reproduction, but it just isn't the way you'd think of tongue.gif

God knows, Just something i learnt over the years, but im 100% positive its true

Cubes have three dimensions, but I suppose I can assume its depth is 60ft as well ;]

But none are actual scientific sites. They're all "fact" sites which have sometimes been known to print false information unfortunately. Those fact sites also do not list their sources to other scientific material so I'm lead to believe it's not true tongue.gif If it IS, I'm really questioning why it wasn't in my 1000 page bio book which I read all the chapters on fungi for.. and yes, I'm extremely stubborn.

Anyways to add something to the topic...

Did you know that there are actually FIVE types of ebola? The first erupted in Marburg, Germany from a monkey testing plant which killed 25% of its victims. Ebola Zaire kills 90% of its victims, Ebola Sudan - 50%, Ebola Ivory Coast and Ebola Reston have only been found to kill monkeys and give the humans either flu-like or Dengue fever-like symptoms.

Also some tests have been made where the blood from survivors of ebola have been given to the infected to transfer antibodies and the survivors had SURVIVED. Cure, anyone?

    To clarify, having spoken to Nottingham's resident fungus expert;

36,000 is a gross overestimate, but individual species of fungus can have as many as 800 different genders.

Did you know male cats have spines on their penises pointing inward/away so that they rip the vaginal tract of the female cat so they are the only ones that fertilize the cat..
^I think foogie posted this somewhere in a errr.. post tongue.gif
    From Wikipedia:
    QUOTE
The male cat's penis has spines which point backwards. Upon withdrawal of the penis, the spines rake the walls of the female's vagina. The female needs this stimulation for ovulation to begin. Because this does not always occur, females are rarely impregnated by the first male with which they mate. Furthermore, cats are superfecund; that is, a female may mate with more than one male when she is in heat, meaning different kittens in a litter may have different fathers.

Did ja know that if you throw a ball 90 degrees - Angle it will go the same distance as 0 degrees + angle ohmy.gif
So if you throw a ball at full strength and you magically calculate it's angle and let's say you do angle 80, it will land on the same spot as if you threw the ball at angle 10.

Haha, I was wrong it seems. By the way, I did mean no harm by it if any of you took it that way, I was just severely confused as to why my bio book failed to mention it. I think they absolutely should because I think that's an important aspect of it and they should explain how exactly this gender difference occurs. Wiki has nothing on it. I'm really interested to see. Joe, did he explain it to you at all?

Anyways did you know that 5-6% of Americans will get a seziure at least once it their life? Most are tiny so it's doubtful they will realize it apparantly.

Thats because there is more than one type of seizure. The seizure that actually involve convulsions are extremely rare (compared to the not-so-violent ones).
