You'll have to excuse the randomness of my name, i've used this in CS for as long as I can remember.

I've read around a bit and seen some stuff that has caught my eye - mainly the Alexisonfire, Mars Volta and Killswitch Engage sigs, so atleast I have something in common with a few of you.

Anyway, the only question I have is after looking at a few of the neopets programs, why do a few of them require your login? Or does that mean the forum login? Just found it kindof weird.

Anyway, just dropped in to say hi. Hopefully i'll stick around, eh? tongue.gif

Well...First of all, Welcome to Codex

Well I know it seams a little odd that the programs are asking for you neopets username and password...It also looks very suspicious. But in order for the programs to work in full speed they have to use Winsock and create their own cookies. Meaning you can not be logged into the program by just logging into internet explorer. Internet explorer uses Internet explorer cookies, The programs use their own. You can rest assure that all of the programs are checked to make sure that they are not malicious.

    Hope that helps.

Welcome to Neocodex! biggrin.gif Our programs require two logins, the first being your forum login to verify who you are at Neocodex and your neopets login so that the program can login (since it acts as its own 'browser'). tongue.gif

Hope you enjoy the site! If you don't mind me asking, how did you hear of us?

Yeah, Don't go near the MSN programs, Stick to Codex and you'll be just fine. We had a crisis yesterday where a member used an MSN program and a few hours later his account is frozen tongue.gif

If you have anymore questions regarding programs feel free to contact a staff member or programmer biggrin.gif
