The poker isn't all in one go.

And those scenes are some of the best tension-inducing cinematography I've seen in a long time.
I was literally on the edge of my seat to see the hands in the final poker scene.

Was there some sort of situation where somebody would die?
If not then I would have to say
I would never be excited over poker hands (Anymore, I used to when I liked poker)

Yeah, I've heard all about Sebastian Foucan in that role. One of the main reasons I want to go see it, I absolutely idolize that guy.

I have absolutely no clue how to play Poker, so err, will I 'not get it'? Worth researching before I see? wacko.gif

I heard from other parkour fans that it was ten minutes of straight Seb! I really want to see the movie, as it features parkour heavily.

Yeah man, I read the review on Urban FreeFlow (Sticky saw it at the premiere) and it rated highly for the parkour in it. biggrin.gif Though of course good Parkour isn't the only thing that would make the movie (ie, District 13, Belle does a lot of sweet parkour, but the film in terms of a general audience sucks).

I'm not a poker fan either, and I don't know how to play...

I just watched the part with Seb in it, but not the entire movie. It was pretty sick. He's going to be on Madonna's Confession Tour tonight at 8PM. Seb and a few other freerunners will be featured on one of her songs. thumbsup.gif

Is that Seb and little trio of like Stephane Vigroux and some other guy, like Johanne? Stephane is my fave. freerunner. biggrin.gif Unfortunately, I doubt I'd be able to see it (living in UK and all), though I may try and watch it on like YouTube or something if someone uploads it.

Bao, how's your talent with parkour. Like how good are you at precisions, rolling, tic tacs. Man, I'm a total beginner, but this rainy weather is making it impossible to practice. That, and I still need some decent running shoes.

I've been doing it for about a year but I didn't explode until a few months ago. I'm best at monkeys. We have a group down here in my state who I regularly run with. The only thing I haven't practiced are tic tacs, I've covered everything else that has to do with parkour but I'm still drilling, drilling, and drilling. We'll be having a video out soon.

How long have you been doing it and do you have friends that you regularly jam with?

As I said, I'm a total beginner, so I've only been doing it for a couple of months. The last 6 weeks or so was mainly spent strength training, working on my endurance etc so I haven't been out actually doing parkour until recently.

What sucks is that I have nobody to jam with. I know no other traceurs in Oxford, so I kinda feel awkward training by myself. Sucks. Nonetheless though, we have some awesome hotspots in Oxford. biggrin.gif

I actually know a guy who's gone to Oxford and the Lisses area for parkour. Ever hear of the 3run group? I jammed with TK-17 quite a few weeks ago at a huge state jam.

I found a website so try checking it out. OxTricks

3run? I've been on their website, if I remember right. Lisses really is THE place to go, eh? I really wouldn't mind hitting the Dame du Lac.

Cheers for that website man, as soon as I get a little better, I'm gonna try hooking up with them.

Well, now that it's been bumped, I may as well offer my views after actually seeing it. The free running bit, in my eyes, was very disappointing. I expected more, but I guess not. The whole film on the other hand, rocked more than I could've imagined. Daniel Craig = perfect. I was and still am very confused about the film however, but that didn't stop me enjoying it.

You've obviously not seen many Bond films, otherwise you wouldn't rate Daniel Craig as the perfect bond. Sure he is good, don't get me wrong, but he is no Sean Connery or Roger Moore.

The parkour was amazing, I don't see how you couldn't be amazied over someone jumping from a crane to another..

Personally, I didn't like this movie very much. It was amazing, up until the last third of it or so, after the main villian died. It just became predicatble/convoluted/senseless after that, and they had Bond turn into some sort of sappy romantic. I don't want to go to a Bond film, and see him proposing to drop his spy career for a woman =\ That's not Bond. Plus, there was the huge timewarp plothole. He's just starting his spy career... But it's past 9/11? And then a little later on, he's apparently a valued/respected member of MI6. Way to change your mind there, M =\

Also, anyone else laugh when that guy was tasered? It just seemed so random, I couldn't help but laugh XD

Don't get involved in the timehole sequence because the first bond was released in the early 60's when he was about 30, so unless you want bond to be 90, don't say anything mkay?

And you gotta remember the film is based on the book, and this was before he was 007 and decided to distance himself from love and romance.

Watch District 13, a movie pretty much entirely based on Parkour with the founder of the sport, David Belle, and nothing will compare with it. You'll have seen him in one of those BBC adverts that were showed like a year or two ago, dunno if you remember though. tongue.gif

Eh; perhaps you're correct. One would assume however that they'd keep dates consistent, and just keep the actor updated. Like, if the first one was set in the early 60's, set this movie in the fifties. And I still didn't like the last third =O Other than that though, it was great.

They could have done better at the ending I think. 30+ minutes of him and that girl was a little much.
