What is the best/least time consuming way to lose body fat? (other than running)

My problem is, im "fit" and not fat due to my fast metabolism and wrestling, but i want to gain a six pack, which i am in the midst of getting.

Basically this is my dail "Food intake"

Breakfast- 1-2 Pieces of Toast
Lunch- Usual School Lunch (2 out of 5 days ill eat salad, 3 out of 5 days ill just eat the stuff they got xD)
Dinner- In comparison to the other meals Dinner is around 9 times larger than breakfast, and 3 times larger than lunch.

So yeah im just trying to lose the last few pounds of excess fat around the stomache. lol.

Sweet another wrestling buddy =). Do you have to do hydration/body fat testing as well this year?

Coming from my experience with cutting weight for wrestling, if you wish to lose a few pounds off your stomach, lower the amount of food you eat. It seems that you are eating rather healthy, though I'm not quite sure what the other school lunches are. Now really your challenge is lessening is the amount of food you eat, and continuing to work out. If you start flooding your system with water, it will also help. Start eating one pieces of toast for breakfast, a medium lunch, and a medium dinner. If your doing it right, you should always be a little hungry for the first week, until your stomach is shrunk.

yeah i had a hydration test/body fat test, except that never told us the results, i think ill go ask xD

Thanks for the tip/info about less food intake. BUt i have one question, when you say i should eat less, it shouldnt be a drastic decrease right? I ask this because iv read (may not be credible) that not eating massively less can lead to quick weight loss, but in the long run, leads to the person gaining the weight back, and in turn gaining a little more? But if i just eat a little less consistantly nothing like that should occur right?

i was once in my college dragonboat team, till i quite few months ago due to lack of time to manage two ccas. I got my six pack from doing crunches and 45 degree sit ups. legs down and body's up ( u need an equipment definitely) and holding a 10 pounds weight. I did both exercises 50X2 times per day without fail. This will most probably reduce much of the fats.

If there is still fats, you might wanna cut down on foods that have proteins ( eggs, chicken etc) 1we8.gif

Why would you cut down on foods with protein? He sounds like an athletic person, he NEEDS the protein.

Cause he said he just need to cut down the excess fats around his body. he NEEDS proteins if he wants to gain muscles etc, but not when he's cutting down on it smile.gif

From what you said it looked like dinner is the biggest meal of the day. THAT meal actually needs to be the smallest because it's towars the end of the day, where you are more than likely less active and won't burn off the calories from that dinner. So actually a breakfast full of good vitamins and proteins and calcium will be best. I wouldn't go to eating next to NOTHING. Because if you break from that just a little bit you more than likely will gain some back. From personal experience from bodybuilders at the gym I used to go to, try to go on a lean diet like low carb! I know you hear that everywhere, but it's actually really good if you're looking to gain musle and lose the fat. Good low-carb foods are grilled or baked chicken and other lean meats. Also some vegetables. And if you feel you must, protein shakes are a good option. Of course, work out and the lot to get the muscle! OH yeah! Don't forget the water! Drink as much as you can! I have seen some guys that want muscle tote around gallon jugs of the stuff. I know that's kinda ridiculous but get as much as possible. It helps "flush" away a good bit of the excess fats.

That's about all the advice I have. Haha.

    Graze. Eat small amounts often.

Hence, the fire analogy. Throw a massive log onto a burning fire and watch as it slowly catches flame then burns for a long, long time. It may even be still burning when it's energy is not in use (during the day). Throw small pieces of wood on the fire as you need it, so it burns when you're using it and not when you're idle.

    It's how I'm 6'1 and only 67kg.

Eat more, spread it out, Euph is right.

It about every 3 hours, but small meals, it increases the rate at which you burn fat. "Low cal" foods and "Sugar Free" snacks wont do crap, as they're loaded with other shit. Just eat what you're eating (about a size of in between your breakfast and your lunch), but 5-6 times a day. If you want a six pack, bicycles are where its at =)

Whenever I see my abs starting to go away I just don't eat and I work out twice as much. I can go a week without eating, but I don't know how long you can go, lol. tongue.gif

That's just stupid...you do know that you can't burn fat and build muscle at the same time right? If you lose any weight, you'll also be losing muscle. Muscle and fat are inexplicably linked, you need to eat to prevent yourself from losing muscle mass, just make sure you eat the right kind of things.

I wrestle too. smile.gif Anyways, I lost 7 pounds in one day and got a six pack in around 2 weeks just from eating very small portions of food. Eat every two hours, whether it be a banana or an orange or just something small. Eating gum keeps me from eating other food and being a fatty so that also will help. And when you run, it is illegal in wrestling but put a trashbag on your skin and put on a t shirt and a coat and just run a mile. Do this everyday twice aday and you'll see some decent results. smile.gif Good luck buddy. thumbsup.gif

hey man wrestling try outs are in 3 weeks (during winter break) for me so i need to loose about 15 pounds. can you go into a bit more detail about crash dieting? i have never experienced any of it, i'm pretty built but i do have a drop of extra weight. i'm considering crash dieting as a last resort since i just yesterday decided i was going to go for wrestling. help?

Cheers to you wrestling kids. I did it back in the day...Kindergarden to 12th grade. No time for it in college. Anyways, run a ton, drink tons of water and do situps with barbels on your chest. Running is they key since you need to get rid of that fat. All the crunches in the world won't do shit without the fat-burning to back it up.

i'm at 185, and im 6'{1-2}. i need to be <170 before the tryouts. the reason is is because there are some BIG guys in the weight class im currently in, i'm gonna definitely get squashed if i try out against these guys. i'll follow your two power bars thing, thats all i should eat for the day right? any specific types? protein, fat burning, whatever? i'm thinking protein since i will want to build during this stage, not just get bone skinny and if i keep protein in my system i probably won't be losing muscle..right?
