What do you think would be better. Doubling the memory on this computer (so it is 80gb, 40gb now) or buying an external hardrive that has something like 100gb+? Could you save everything onto it and even run all of your programs from it so basically your hardrive is empty and all is on the external one? Any advide is appreciated.

getting an external one would be better..get the 7200.10 320GB one...at my country here its about SGD$1 for each GB so it should be quite worth it...and whats more it is also portable so you should be able to install games on other pcs...

for the part on running programmes from your external HDD...i'm not so sure bout that but i guess it'll probably not work...

Ok, cause I thought if the pc crashes who cares, we have an external! So i was just wondering if you could run everything on it, and save everything on it, dunno if it would work (hope it does). anyone know if it would?

Cause if it would work that would be really cool, my pc would be soooo much faster.

I say wait for the deals. I just recently got a 250gb internal harddrive for $50 during the woot-off and I have a harddrive enclosure at home so I will be making the internal harddrive into an external harddrive for backup and data storage purposes smile.gif. Total cost for a 250gb external harddrive = $65. smile.gif

You can't install an operating system on the external, if that is what you were stating eariler. Use the external for movies/music and other files that aren't bound to the system or registry.

lol I dont want to create a whole new computer, I just want to install music and itunes on there, open itunes off the external and listen to the songs off it as well. Also say put all of my mmorpg files onto it and then play the game online. Stuff like that, also have open office installed on there and use it like I normally would. I think there would have to be a limit to what I could do, but on my computer I have 2 hardrives , one is the C: drive (everything goes on there) and the other is D: (its recovery, never touch it). So could I sort of make an E one lol. I dont know if you can understand what I just said but thanks for the help so far.

If you have room at your desk get an external hard drive.
If you don't want another thing cluttering your room get an internal.
