Blend the render. Get some grunge/abstract brushes and start brushing in colors from the sig. And...that's pretty much all I can think of right this second.

Do the same thing you did with your fable sig
Except changed colours, placements, etc.

If you care to check my photobucket album you'll see that there are other sigs I've made with that style

Anyway as for the sig, I think if you moved the render over a bit, not to the middle, But a bit it would help look like more space is being filled. Then i guess for the rest you could experiment with filters. The best way of learning things is experimenting
Edit: Hope you don't mind, but I edited your sig. Nothing major though, just wanted to help

So I'll tell you what I did to it (in order)
-Made the size a bit smaller
-Duplicated the sig I started with and used wave on it (filter>distort> wave, and hit randomize till I found something I liked) set to lighten erased parts covering the render.
-Applied image (create a new layer, then Image>apply image) smudged it around a bit, then polar co-ordinated it (filter>distort> polar co-ordinates polar to rectangular) then ripples it (filter distort ripple, change size from medium to large, and set the % to 75. After set it to colour dodge (fiddle with opacity and erase unwanted parts)
Repeated the apply image part (-Applied image (create a new layer, then Image>apply image) ) The i added some lighting (filter render lighting effects, and put it in the direction of the render, lowered the opacity to 75
-Finally added a blach and white gradient map on 22% normal
Once again sorry if you didn't want me to mess around with your sig, I just felt the need to help you out

Tbh it would be better with a good brushed background but yeh this is what i suggest you should do with it:

Smmt along the lines of that, if u wna know how feel free to ask, dont see point in me writing up how if u dnt wna know like]
Tbh i think it wud look much better at this size:

Sweet. Thanks for all hte input guys. That's really gonna help. I'm not really good with stuff that you people do, and especiallt how Kitch did that cool effect on my fable sig.
Oh, yeah. That kinda hurt, but it's true anyway, SRF.
Yeah, I would like to know. Anything to help me make better sigs would be MUCH appreciated. I normally make my sigs 400x150, but should probably make them smaller, I.E. Kitch's fable sig.
Oh, and, Kitch, feel free to do stuff to my sig to help me out. That's how I learn, by seeing. So thanks for the example on my siggeh.
