In about an hour, I'm going to get my drawing tablet from Best Buy. Anyone know if this tablet is decent? And what should/shouldn't I do with it? If that makes any sense o.o

If it's Wacom, it's good. Nuff said, really.
It's an excellent brand, so all you need to decide are which size, and any extra features like option buttons you want, and that's all personal preference.

I'm looking into getting one at some point, but at the moment, the kinda stuff I do doesn't require me to use one.

Yeah I think thats the same tablet I have, copy cat! And yeah tablets are kind of hard to get used to. Most people have the impression they will be uber when they get it. I want one of those moniters that I can write on.

Yeah, for practice, I've been using it as my mouse for a little bit.

Hoju - I can't draw well with a pen/cil anyways xD. But yes, the linesand everything come out VERY nice.

Using a tablet isn't the same as a mouse tongue.gif
A mouse has more control, the pen not as much from what I'm told

And the lines that you make would depend on how steady your hand is

    I know o.o

What I meant was that I'm using this pen and tablet as my mouse so I can get used to the way it moves.

Oh, don't get your hope up tongue.gif It's going to take me a long time. For now, I'll be using it for smudging and maybe making some 'practice' faces, all for practice.

Wacoms are the best tab out there but they're hella expensive as you no doubt know tongue.gif. Personally I wouldn't like to be working with one the size that's shown in the picture of the link, but that's just preference.

As for what you shouldn't do, avoiding spilling things on it, throwing it across the room or letting your pets sleep on them are all good ideas tongue.gif.

Edit: Hokay didn't read far enough down, congrats on ze purchase tongue.gif.

You win with Wacom, but as soon as you get it throw away your mouse and use your tablet for everything. It takes bit time to get used to, or so I've been told.

Just remember to draw alot everyday Jeff and share some of your work. Good luck.
