Two problems, yey!

1. When I open My Documents, this happens:

Sometimes if I can navigate to another folder quick enough, it dosen't do it.

2. I am getting BSOD's a lot. They started around x-mas I think. But its funny because for some reason my new moniter won't display them, so it says "Input Not Supported" So I can't read the errors. Not like it would help anyway, since the error information has never helped me in the past >_> No, I do not remember if I installed anything when I started getting the BSOD's.

Any ideas what I can do, other than reformat? sad.gif

Try cold booting (run > msconfig > diagnostic startup) and see if you still have the problem. If not, then look into the startup services and untick the ones that you don't need. Then it's pretty much just trial and error to see which startup service is screwing you up.

What do you propose I do in safe mode? And yeah I have the system restore stuff but I'd rather find out what the problem is to prevent it from happening again.

I would strongly doubt that.. I installed that software on vista and xp without a flaw.. so I'm 100% it's not that.

Maybe you could restore to some date before xmas... sometimes that works unsure.gif and, anyways.. reformating isn't such a bad idea.. just back up your stuff and reformat, takes like 2-4 hours and you're good to go.

If you have another computer laying around, try swapping out the RAM. Although I wouldn't rule out a reformat, a bad ram stick is one of the most common causes of BSOD errors.

Not too long ago I got a new mobo because my computer kept BSODing and not starting up. They said they tested all the RAM and it was fine.. I twasn't that long ago, so could have the RAM really messed up that quickly?

Also forgot to ask this. Since I got a new mobo, what do I do? Reformatting will install my old drivers right? For my old mobo?

ya. it will restore to the default driver automatically. Then you'll have to install all your drivers again 1we8.gif

One of the other causes of BSOD ( other than the bad ram already mention) might be PSU supply not having sufficient power.
