This style is the exact same as every other signature you have made. Sports, sports, and sports.

If it's what the guy likes then leave him be, he doesn't need to change his style just for the sake of pleasing some people online 
Down to the sig, its good but theres kind of a wierd border on the outside of the black dude, i like the simple background and the way that the sig actually starts off lighter and fades out a little and the stroke also shows that which is pretty cool
I think you gotta work on blending the pic in
Way on the right track.
