While I have nothing against people using drugs, I tend to believe that it is a rather frivolous and expensive way to waste your life
From what you've told me of this girl, it sounds like she really loves you, and I think that in the long run, you'd be better off with her.
Though I have to agree, the "no drinking" part is a rather unrealistic expectation. Drinking is fine, as long as it's in moderation.

Actually the drugs will leave him to the rest of he life...very short, actually o.õ
And well, must to say that THE GIRL!
Drugs=Blow up you life
She=Make you life look like heaven(probably)
So, go with she =)

Mmhm agreed. They beat me to it.
But yeah, just really try talking to her. If it boils down to her or drugs, definitely go with her.

an ultimatum like that is sensible, and I highly suggest you go with it.
it's a small price to pay, and it's definietly a road you should have taken a long time ago anyways.

Agree. Alcohol cant be as bad as drugs, can it? Perhaps you could try discussing about the limits on how much is the maximum intake you should take. May be a bottle or 2 per week?
Slowly and slowly, you could cut down, may be to 1 per week as time passes by. If not, perhaps you could substitute it with another drink instead, such as wine which is healthier when consumed at moderate ?

And if he really loved her more than he loves drugs he'd give those up. Honestly it really goes both ways.
Really Cody... I'm sorry but I'm going to be blunt. Giving up the girl you've loved for YEARS to just go off and do drugs I think could be one of the worst mistakes ever. Let's see... on one hand you have something that temporarily will make you feel good and on the other hand you also have a woman that who knows... you could spend the rest of your life with her. I have talked with you and I know you guys have had your differences and I know it's been problematic but think about it. You say that if you give up that dream of trying every drug you'd feel a bit empty inside but hasn't she also been a dream of yours too? Wouldn't you feel even worse if you lost her forever? The thing is... drugs are a temporary thing that makes you feel better for a short time but to have someone who truly loves you is a thing that will make you feel better AND last forever.
I don't know if you truly love her or not really and I'm not going to bug you about it beyond this but it's just really something to just consider. Oh yes, I wouldn't give her an answer for at least a week because well... you might want to think long and hard before you make a decision.

Okay goooooooood, thought that you were having the decision of... yeah. Stuff. And yes, good question.. why ARE people pro-alcohol and not pro-other drugs as well or vice versa. Honestly... alcohol is just as bad as some other drugs like... any other depressant, really. As far as I'm concerned when taken at a certain level... perscription or non, both are rather bad for you and your liver *shrugs*

Anyway.
I would have said to go with the drugs.
As long as you can afford them, drugs will never leave you for the promise of a better life elsewhere. They'll never cheat on you... never even give you a glimmer of a doubt that it was even possible that they cheated on you.
Drugs can give you the same feelings as being in love anyway...
As you yourself have said... they're all the same chemicals. What does it matter of the source?

Just food for thought.
Cody.
I was basically gunna say what everyone else has about choosing the girl blah...reasoning about alcohol blah. In answer to your question me personally isnt agaisnt alcohol because basically I lack knowledge of drugs that are more healthy for you, also alcohol is the most common thing that teenagers (in my area) do so its almost like the whole of East London (brap! lol) has grown to accept it.

This is going to be one of the hardest decisions you will ever make in your life - but i think the nub of the issue is this
do you really mean this???
if so, it's simple change your lifestyle and hook up with the love of your life. Saying that however you WILL feel that a part of you is missing - and this feeling will never go away, you need to think of this as a mental addiction (you are addicted to the quest you have) therefore like everyone who's been addicted will tell you, it's a daily struggle that never totally goes away.
However that said - Love is also a powerful drug and can sometimes make these things worth the effort.
The only person who can make the choice is yourself, and no matter how many friends and loved ones help, it's only you that will be able to get your head around your own life. If you can live your life without her in it and you think that your quest if the most important thing in your life then that would be the choice.
however if when you were just reading that statement "live your life without her in it" it was like your heart skipped a beat then....
