Pikachu: I chose you! {Pokemon chapter books #1)

lol but seriously i'm surprised how many people here have such a interest in books, i tend to get bored and tired of the author's continuous style of writing and then drop the book. if you really want to escape reality and get involved with a story, why not watch a movie? i hardly ever read, but art of war as redlion said is a great read (the art of war).
i really don't understand the big hype about TKAMB. i've read the book, i saw the movie and i was unimpressed. there was truly no high point in the movie, it dragged on with the same shit throughout the whole thing. want to experience a story which tackles racism and stereotypes? watch american history x.

edit; fixed suxxy grammar

Why?
Because it's just one man fighting for equality.
The movie sucked ass as do all book movies.
Remember The Titans is a really good racism movie as well.

    1984 or Animal Farm.

Seriously, George Orwell is like God among men. Well probably like a Buddah rank or something. Still..

Agreed on that. 1984 chilled me to the core. You know the theme music from Requiem for a Dream? Yeah, that was playing in my head at the moment that the main character sat down for a gin in the shoddy bar at the end, because it was such a crazy moment.

Actually, I enjoyed To Kill a Mockingbird. Then again, I'm a huge black and white fan (the best actors of all time came from an era devoid of special effects) and court movies always catch my fancy. But besides my fetishes, it was still very good at portraying the book. Boo Radley is one of my all time favourite characters.

If you're up for a laugh or something that may make you think because you like to look into religion and political controversies try reading:
The Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown <- Not bad, if you don't like the facts you'll like the story =P
The Illuminatus! Trilogy - Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson
The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail - Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, and Henry Lincoln

Those are the books I've read lately otherwise buy I just grab some Archie digests and relax on the couch. tongue.gif
