we should have an annonymous shout box where you can post things about certain people, like "Frizzle is a noob" or stuff like that where people won't know who said it It would be pretty fun Of course, nothing can be taken offensively

But then we could find their IP and through that their address, and then we'd send them a nailbomb through the post.

But seriously, a shout box would indeed take away the activity from the acutal forums itself. I remember when we first introduced IRC it was quite popular, but we still talked on the forums and activity was good, but as soon as our community grew, we spent most of the time in IRC and not the board so we scrapped that idea.

This would basically be the same but on a smaller scale, I don't think many people would go for it and it wouldn't be implemented.

But that's just my opinion.

Someone just came from Iced Accounts.
We've had this discussion before. The chatbox is just another useless piece of crap that the moderators would have to expend their time looking after and making sure rules were followed. It serves no purpose and would decrease the amount of actual board activity. Assuming you are coming from the aforementioned site you should know very well that their activity on the boards is next to nothing. Why? Look at the shoutbox, it is constantly active.

I don't think it will be very popular either. But i also don't see why it would take away from the forum. I always find those things annoying on websites, but it is funny to see people insulting eachother I personally wouldnt use it over the forums, but thats just me

Please don't mind Urban's comment about Iced Accounts.

The reason we decided not to add a shoutbox to our site is that it diverted activity away from the boards, and like Urban said, it's more for the moderators to handle. Thanks for the suggestion anyways. We can always consider it in the future, but for now I don't think we're going to add one.
