Its legit. You get a two week free trial, and if you sign up, he gets points or a prize or something. Its not a scam, but you're not getting full premium.

Wow, some of you really don't have an ounce of positive thought. It's a premium referral not a scam to get into your account. All the referral gives you is the opportunity to sign up for premium when it is not open to everyone. You then go on to sign up, which does require you to give your credit card details to even get the free trial. For those who're a bit on the slow side, I'll tell you now, these details are not given to the referrer, nor is any detail except that they have signed up for the trial and then again if they continue with the service. It does not cost you unless you continue the service past the two weeks.
The referrer gets a prize for the first 5 referrals, and then every 5 after that.

The free trial does give you full premium including the neomail avatar which is not taken away if you quit before the trial is over.
