That is my rant. I live and drill with soldiers who feel the same as me. The most common words that come out of their mouth is "bark liberals". So I say it for them. The men who fight and die so you can enjoy the freedoms that America offers.
Exactly. The army has a nice way of turning every sort of undesirable (and some desirables) into killing machines. They're good at it too. By the end, every marine thinks the same, and thus, knows what his brothers will do in the field. However, that model doesn't work when you're back in civilization. Blindly following the orders of your superiors in the field isn't just accepted, its demanded. If you don't do that in Iraq, you'd probably get killed. However, it is a part of our society, our way of life to question the actions of leaders; without that, we're just another communist or fascist regime that you so vehemently ranted about. And whats worse, people like you think that the system you're currently in (the military) is the best way for
everyone to run their lives, which it is not. Most people are born curious; born to question, to learn, etc. Infantrymen might have been at one point, but by the time they're in the field, all they're concerned with is what their orders are and how much meatball they're going to get at the end. In other words, their basest instincts. Which is fine for the military, but then you start seeing Marines on news networks spouting off how we should blindly follow the direction of our government, when in fact we should do the opposite. Blind faith is worse than questioning faith. Isn't it better to know when you're doing right or wrong? Don't you want to fix things that need to be fixed and leave alone what doesn't need help? It just seems to me that the whole idea of allowing the military to influence how private citizens are supposed to work is completely contradictory to how our country is supposed to work. The leader of the country isn't a military officer for a reason: we don't want to be the next Germany, or Yugoslavia, or Zaire, or whatever.
In addition, the 'liberal dick heads' as you so affectionately called them, have every right to their own opinions, just as you are allowed yours. By making statements like this, you do nothing to further your cause, and only make yourself look like the asshole who can't remain civil while insulting the other side.

Someone quick tell me how much oil we've stolen from Iraq?
QUICK QUICK QUICK...
Otherwise, quit regurgitating the Michael Moore bullshit and think for yourselves.
You know as well as I do that we've stolen no oil. What we have done, however, is twofold.
1) We've broken up OPEC, and thus, have made the Iranians and Venezuelans quake in their boots, as they've lost their monopoly on pricing. Ever wonder why we're just now hearing about the 'devil in the white house' from our friend to the south? Partly because he wasn't in power a few years ago, but he could have begun to criticize the President in 2002; why did he wait until after we'd invaded Iraq to start his criticism not of the war, but of our way of life? I think the answer, or at least an answer is obvious.
2) We've made a shitload of money for companies like the Carlyle Group, which happens to be chaired by George Bush Sr. and a few of his Saudi friends

They're the guys that own United Defense, makers of the M2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, of which the United States has lost 55 in Iraq and had to replace, not to mention the cost of replacement parts, mechanics, etc. And when UD's stock goes up, who gets the profits?
Carlyle -> GHWB -> GWB.
Makes an interesting point for war, doesn't it?
Anyway, thats all speculation, and besides the point. Lets get back to bashing liberal dick heads
