It's kept by the police, which I don't agree with at all.
Regardless of the illegality of their actions, those people still earned the money and should go into THEIR possession.

That's like saying that people who sell children as sex slaves should also be allowed to keep the money from their actions after they're arrested...

It would make much more sense to put the money back into improving schools and healthcare in the country, that kind of money could provide free universal education and healthcare for a few years.

no way it should be in their possession. do you know how many lives they screw over by selling drugs? it should yeah be used to make the community better in some way, even spend it on drug prevention campaigning.

well, showing all the money from selling drugs wont exactly discourage drug sell. man.. just think of the computer you could buy with that money. and the art supplies

rofl. then again, if i were there, i would probably sneak one or two bundles when no one was looking. but everyone wouldve been watching out and making sure no one tried anything smart.

It shouldn't go into the Police Departments budget. It should go into making the towns better and stuff. Building a better soceity. Or even use the money to make a huge Anti_Drug campaign.

Having a well-funded police department is a part of building a better society. It allows better equipment, better training and more officers, if necessary. And are you talking about this particular incident or just drug money in general?

Not all drug busts are large amounts of money, usually they are relatively small, so I think it is perfectly reasonable for it to go to the police department. Once again, not sure if this is how it is everywhere, but in my town, the police department only makes $5 per ticket they hand out, regardless of the amount, and the rest goes to charity.
