Nobody really cares if he did lip sync, he is a rapper not a singer where if a singer like Ashlee Simpson does it, it proves she has no voice. What does this prove? That he was just lazy that night. I actually prefer that rappers lip sync because if you ever saw them live in concert, when they actually rap it sounds more like screaming than smooth talking and rhyming and the reason for that is because they try to compete with the noise in the stadium and they are using energy by walking and running around the stage to hype up the crowd.

LOL!!! Let's see you pick up a guitar and do something. In fact, if it takes no skill, you should have no problem playing this song.

Not to mention all rappers have to do is pick a microphone up and start singing whereas a guitarist has to worry about both vocals and playing the guitar at the same time.

    Ok.
    They both take different skills.
    End of.

He said guitar takes no skill at all, that's why I said that. I personally think guitar would take more skill, I mean I would like to see a rapper do this laugh.gif

That guy needs to have his hair cut. What about battling and freestyling? Those definately take a lot of skills.

Josh doesn't even know what rap is, I'm just going to ignore him until he starts posting sensibly.

"Lol why don't you play a guitar with no eyes, whilst it's on fire..." blah blah.

    Ugh, I hate 50 cent dry.gif That's pretty funny though. If I didn't hate him so much, I would feel bad for him...wait...no I wouldn't biggrin.gif

I sure he can just go on a talk show the next morning and blame on "acid reflux"* tongue.gif

    *referring to Ashlee Simpson's excuse

I listen to rap all the time, no not mainstream, one of my favorite free stylist of all time is Jin. Unlike you, I NEVER said rap does not take skill, I only said that I think playing a guitar requires more.

Have you listened to Shogunna? He recently made a remix with Jin.

imo that battle shouldn't be factored in cause it was obvious as hell serius wrote all his parts, whereas jin's seemed to be off the dome. he's a good mc, but he'd be way better if he dropped the "im chinese eggroll dumpling chinaatown" bullshit that he brings every song/battle

Eh, he is a good MC, but it really does get boring everytime he brings in the race card. I don't follow him as much I follow other artists.

bark! You guys complainin bout this shit?

There are a few reasons most singers and rappers tend to lipsync:

    1) When you're doing a large show with millions of viewers, you might have some social pressure to do it to where you sound perfect.
    2) Managers demand it
    3) Or your voice is completely barking worn out.

I may think modern music is complete shit (though I'm stuck in the days of Muddy Waters), but if you go to a concert expecting it to be raw and live, and theres an audience of a few million, go get yourself checked. The same shit happened with Ashlee Simpson in 04 on SNL.

And this is why I prefer to go to Three Dog Night and Doobie Brothers concerts... even though barely any of the band members are left. They still sound damn good and it's truly live and they sound great happy.gif I mean you can tell since they do natural variations. Though a lot of modern people do it who aren't TOO big. People like Mika, Kate Nash, and others do it a lot. I love it when people can just have fun and play with their music instead of being so afraid. Not to say that I don't understand their fear whatsoever but... when you're on that stage you must be confident tongue.gif

but you're paying a huge price. to see them life, and it's not explicitly mentioned that you're there to see/hear them sing too.

Well I see your point really but I dunno it's like with all these pop stars you're not there to see them sing, you're there to see them dance tongue.gif
