A few months ago I was on a mission and a half to get the SDB Packrat avatar. I did it legit...no programs. Just searched shops for cheap stuff. And as you all must already know where there is cheap stuff there is more cheap stuff. I would see things worth hundreds or thousands of neopoints for 1-10np smile.gif of course i grabbed them...who wouldn't... Well, this "collecting" I was doing went far beyond the avatar requirement. It almost became an addiction. So now I have about 20,000 items in my SDB and I have like space to put 10 things i think in my shop! Soooo here's the questions

1. Are things worth more on a weekday or weekend?
2. Any suggestions on how to tackle this dilema of mine? Trust me I get a headache just looking at the numbers...but yet I keep depositing everything. I'm like a real life neopian packrat lol

I would just expand your shop then use an auto pricer to price it all, just might take a couple times if you get wizard banned. Maybe you would want to expand your shop a little then just restock it as it fills because a shop to hold all your items would be quite expensive.
Also the price of the items are based on supply and demand.

A mission and a half? Anyway, things vary in costs. Cheap items usually cost the same throughout the week, I'm not sure about items of higher value. There might be a program on Codex that helps with posting items to your shop, try searching for it. thumbsup.gif

Dang, that's a lot of stuff! I thought I had a lot when I had 4 or 5 pages... lol.
Good luck, I wish I had some advice, but those guys seem to have better advice that I would have had so I'll leave it at that.

A size shop i think would be about 120-150 items. This way you can get most priced when using the auto pricer. I have found I can usually get 4 or so pages priced before i get wizard banned.

I prefer not to use cheating programs. I only do when I have to. Or if there is something I really want. Any suggestions on how to effectively and somewhat quickly meaning not taking 100 years to do this? I really do appreciate the input you all have given.

Well if you are going to do it legit being premium would be helpful so you could use the super shop wiz to price stuff out. Otherwise what i used to do was open two windows up and put them next to each other. Load your shop in one and the wizard in the other and just quickly price them. I would usually check the wizard 3 or so times for each item to get the lowest price. Other then that the only "easy way" would be to use a auto pricer which isn't really a cheat just a helper in a round about way eh?

Well, I'm not really against "cheating" it just makes me feel better that I did it on my own. It gives me a really good sense of accomplishment. And to me any program no matter what it does is cheating. BTW I do have premium. But that damn super shop wiz always bans me. I guess I do too much searching

I have found it banns you quicker if you search for the same thing over and over rather then just searching for multiple things. I also read on another topic that if you price things closer to the start of a new hour and you get banned it only goes to the top of the hour.

I wish I knew the way the super shop wiz works...is there any way of finding out? I know for sure that whenever you get banned whether it is :01 or :58 you only get banned till the end of the hour. Ever notice if you get banned after :10 it says u have 50 minutes, :20=40, :30=30, :40=20, :50=10...

Thats basically it, and you can't search for certain items, one of them is secret lab. maps, and I think some of the paintbrushes.

But what I am interested in is how it works. It can't possibly be random. Does it go by how much time as passed since the last search or by the number of searches in a certain time frame? Or maybe are we just limited to a certain number of searches per hour? I have tried googling this in the past and have been pretty unsuccesful

as far as how many times you can search without getting banned?

I think it has to have a set limit which can be reduced with the amount of times in between searches. Say for example you limit is 40 searches an hour. But if the time inbetween searches is greater then 5 seconds (those searching say for codestones and just keep hitting F5 to refreash) then you number of searches goes down by x number. I might have to do a little test on this and see what happens.

    edit
ok I tried to do it with codestone and just hit F5.... I got in 20 searches before I was banned for the rest of the hour. On the plus side I got 2 codestones for 2000 each. smile.gif yahoo.gif

all i know is the number of times your banned is multiplied by 10mins to = your ban time

You get 200 searches per hour, so if you do 1 search every 17 seconds then you won't get wiz banned. tongue.gif

I've never used the super shop wiz so I have no idea about that one, but the normal shop wiz you definitely get 200 search in total for each hour.

Yes, it would be very helpful. I will keep track of my results and see what I can come up with in a week or so.

Me too. I am figuring on trying out the once per minute thing. Remember the altador plot with the veolous or whatever it was called...you had to check once per minute. And a lot of stuff on neopets is time related

Are you going to be checking yours with all the same item youa re searching for or are you going to be doing it with the same item?

Well I was thinking it might reduce your number of searches if you only search for the same item over and over.. ex. light just putting in the word codestone, but then again maybe your right because a different one will come up each time. So maybe it doesn't matter. But if say you only searched for main codestone each time then it might reduce you number of searches. I guess only one way to find out.
