What's your typing speed?

I ask because I just got back from taking a typing test (among other tests) at a temporary employment agency and my final result was...

Over 5 Minutes, 106 WPM, 0% errors

(yes, I mainly made this topic to brag. but you may as well post your speed too so this topic isn't completely worthless)

Better then any of my friends/relatives but that really means nothing because none of them are antisocial hacker-tan gaining freaks like me. I'm sure if I compared myself to you lot, I'd be pretty average tongue.gif.

I can hit 156 WPM in a 5 minute period with 0% error, but over 210 with usually around 5% error.

Dude, but look at the time! 150 wpm for 50 min! 50 MINUTES!!! I could never do that, I get burned out and I would eventually make an error at least 10 minutes. Not to mention, most tests aren't the same, I type based on actual words that I know, kind of like separated symbols rather than separated characters, so the one test I took at school could be different from yours. Not to mention she did it with Dvorak, which is a lot harder to initially learn.

If you look at it, technically with close variations of words showing up within a 5 minute period it shouldn't be that hard. Plus I probably couldn't hit my record again if I tried.

(I do go through keyboards very very very fast... This Apple keyboard has been hitting its last run, the S key is beginning to cease function.)

EDIT: Now what would be interesting would be arrangements of natural linguistic characters assembled in odd or tricky chains measured by correct character impressions per minute. That would really show skill.

    Yeah...that's exactly what I was thinking...*cough*

I usually get 60-80 wpm. I haven't tested in a long while, so I'm not sure anymore, if anything I'd think it went up though tongue.gif

I don't know my exact word per minute, but i'm sure it would be around 50 with lots of errors... plus i peck type.. never use home row or anything. I just instinctively know where the keys are lol.

60 with one error.... dry.gif Shitty... then 64 with three tongue.gif But it was a typo cause I misread the word... the other two were missed uppercases, but they shouldn't have been uppercase in the test, anyways 1we8.gif
