Mmm I just gave blood, I try to whenever I can since I have a reasonably rare blood type. I'm A negative.

Here's the rarities:
O Positive 38 %
A Positive 34 %
B Positive 9 %
O Negative 7 %
A Negative 6 %
AB Positive 3 %
B Negative 2 %
AB Negative 1 %

What blood type are you? Do you donate? If you don't know what type you are, ask your mum, if she doesn't know, then I guess you won't know until you get a blood test or give blood tongue.gif

If you're negative and a woman it poses some quite big issues when you're pregnant dry.gif Only if your partner is positive (John is dry.gif ) Luckily I shouldn't have to worry about that for a good few years yet.

Why does it make problems when pregnant?

I'm O+, as is the rest of my family. I've never given blood, but only because I'm not old enough. I think you have to be 17 to donate here, and I'm only 16.

Hmm you have to be 16 here to do it.

My parents were a bit confused when I told them I was A- since both my parents are + tongue.gif but two positives can have a negative baby.

2 positive test results can lead to having a child that develops AIDs.

People that give blood are awesome. Hehe. Everyone thinks it'll be scary with the needles and that, but it hurts less than having a jab.

I'm O+, woo for being common!

Props, good work smile.gif I never gave blood before except to for the purpose of making it absolutely positive that my health was at it's peak and adequate for overseas travel. I prefer to have a common blood type so that if I ever need it'll be available tongue.gif

i think that there are enough people donating now that it dosn't matter what type of blood you are.. there's probably always going to be some availeble... plus can't the rare blood types accept blood from any other group, or is that just AB -

I would never give blood unless it was to find out my blood type, I'm not scared of needles, but what's the point of going through it all, just to get nothing out of it.

the idea is for other people to get something out of it lol. You make it sound like it's a strenuous process when all you do is lie down....they take the blood....and you walk away xD
